Default Getting even with bike thieves

Earlier today I locked my bike up quite close to town. Stupidly it was over a short pole so thieves in the space of 5-10 minutes were able to hoist the bike over the pole. I didn't have the bike insured and was planning on sorting it out this week. So whilst I have partly myself to blame, I still want revenge.

So far I've thought about locking up a brand new bike in a similar fashion to the pole then hiding, waiting and attacking whoever tries to steal it the next time.

Problem is whilst the cops might give less of a shit about a bike being stolen they might care a bit more about someone getting knocked the fuck out with an elbow to the back of the head. There are CCTV cameras not too far from the area, but not directly by it.

Anyone got any ideas?

When you see someone trying to jack your bike, spray pepper spray upwind of them so the plume floats towards the thief.

as soon as he tries to lift it scream to the top of your lungs -bike thief- many times and point at him. That will draw everyones attention at him and if youre lucky you might get him lynched, but on the least people will then see where he goes and track him down. Someone will of course call police and that guys gonna get raped.

there after, take the seat off the seat post and take it with you. No one will want to ride on that. Or at least, not in public

there's absolutely no way to lock up a bike that will prevent it or even deter thieves from stealing it. if it's out of your sight, it's going to get stolen.

all bike thieves deserve to burn alive.

What you do is get another bike, put it near the top of a street with a large hill on it and where the probable direction of escape will be downhill, loosen the nuts on the front tire AND on the steering column, just leave it there unlocked and go smoke a joint under a tree or something and wait patiently.

My brother got my old bike stolen, then his friends called me and told me they saw it locked to a pole on the most high traffic street around (Flatbush ave). I ran the whole way there (quite a distance) in my wifebeater and basketball shorts ready to fuck a nigger up. I found the bike chained to a parking meter and just lifted the shit right over. Some old lady watched me do it and I say hi to her. I drove the shit the whole way home. I considered waiting for the guy to come out and beat him within an inch of his life, but chances are the cops would come and I wouldn't get the bike so I took it back and laughed at the idea of him walking home.
