- What's the best method to deposit/withdraw money from poker accounts? I tried to deposit 50$ to my Absolute poker account but it didn't get there and the online help person said that my bank probably didn't accept that transfer, I can't call my bank at the moment because I'm on vacation in Europe. PayPal doesn't work, netteller doesn't work in the US (or at least that's what it's telling me), so what other alternatives would be good for deposit/withdraw?

So for now I'm stuck with playing for virtual money on Absolute, but I see improvement because I'm "recharging" my play money less and less. I plan to move onto microstakes of 0.01/0.02$ and see how that goes and then move to 0.02/0.05$ if such exist), because I've heard there are a lot less casual players there that go all in in preflop with 24. I've also read that Poker for Dummies ebook posted earlier in this thread and I got a lot more ebooks to read, including some classics referred to here and there.

Go with Pokerstars. Rake isn't the worst at the low levels. Don't make an account on FullTilt without at least depositing $500, isn't worth it otherwise even with the rakeback since rake is higher at lower stakes then Pokerstars.

Pokerstars doesn't have rakeback persay but they do have VPP. Basically if you play enough hands, you acquire VPPS which after you get 1,500 you cash in for $10. I don't have the math but someone at 2plus2 can do it for you, it averages to be about the same. After you cash in enough VPPS the award level starts getting higher, like $20, $25, $100, $1000, etc.
