Q about making bootleg dvd's

it's time my friend goes on another endeavour; he has the equipment to produce quality bootleg dvd's/labels/cases , but has never tried to copy dvd's that they make today (with security features that prevent it from being copied).

everyone knows that they used to be good prog's to copy dvd's, but my buddy hasn't fucked around with this shit in awhile and don't know if they made it hardier to copy dvd's, but im guessing they have

are there good programs to copy dvd's , like current ones?

i see a lot of security features on the back of dvd's

Did you google at all? It's literally so easy my grandmother does it. That's right, my 83 year old grandmother is a pirate, and has a movie collection 1000's of movies big.

Ya really no shit his Grandma and I guess that makes my Grandma a pirate too she's 86 and has hereself a small movie archive of here own bootlegged CD/DVD's,go for and your friend too whats to loose and its really fukken cheap considering the profits made in the end, when all said and done!!

I used DVD43 and ImgBurn to break copy protection and make iso/burn iso when I had Windows and was into that stuff.

That's kinda freaky... My grandma just turned 82 and also has a collection of bootlegs on DVD (hundreds though not thousands)....

Just straight up rip the .iso into a 7-gig file. That's the "best" way as far as quality is concerned. After that, look into lossless video compression.

I'm talking about for putting on a disc. 7 gigs is a whole lotta disc. How would a 700 mb .avi file look on a big screen? Never tried on anything but a computer screen.

Shit, someone wanna write a guide on this? Purely for informative purposes/archiving dvd collections.

We have been doing this for like 10 years! its simple really.you just have to read and research. You can buy a good burner for your computer or buy some good software or even download it. get some good DVD's at the store and learn as you go. Now we only watch the pirated brand new movies that are at the theatres now. You are kind of slow unless you are getting the newest movies out!

You need to by DVDs not CDs. A blank DVD costs more than a CD but is usually big enough to burn a bit-for-bit replication of a commercial DVD. To get a 700 mb format you see in torrents you use what is called a codec, to remove certain information from the file and compress it. Most .avi files are encoded with the DivX or XViD codecs. The downside to codec compression is that almost all DVD players are unable to play the file and the image looks like shit on something the size of a TV screen.

In short : Rip a uncompressed ISO and burn it on DVDs not CDs

Yeah, I know that you should burn on DVD's. But if you could put more than one movie on a disc (take requests) then wouldn't you make a larger profit?

In short, no. A DVD with two movies on it is pretty clearly a pirated disk, which would scare off some of your customers, additionally someone with a little knowhow in the DVD world would realize that to fit two movies on one disk the quality would either be shit or it wouldn't be playable on a standard DVD player.

The pirating business is about looking as legit as possible and not trying to charge a tenth of retail price but to look like a legitimate business trying to undercut a competitor.

A good point, but if someone selling movies out of their trunk, it's pretty much a dead giveaway anyways.
