I hope Dream Theater can get a a new drummer thats as good as him. But it won't be the same.

He's definitely not quitting Dream Theater to join Avenged Sevenfold. From what I gathered from the announcements he just needs a break from music. I get the feeling he's burned out.

Dream Theater freed up like 80% of the space out of their gear van. lol

Mike Portnoy has a very distinct feel, but Dream Theater is such a huge band... they will probably be able to find an extremely competent drummer to fill in Portnoy's shoes.

That track is off Scenes From a Memory. Good album.
