Dodge has been going downhill for fucking years. My moms 04 caravan had major rust issues after 1 year. The whole suspension started rotting the fuck out this year and she ended up getting a new one. Buying a new car should last a fuck of a lot longer than 5 years though.

your transmission is probably going. i am pretty sure you can drain a bit of the fluid from it and see if there are metal shavings in it.

My condolences go out to you and your wallet. Unfortunately, there are few shops that will touch a CVT, and fewer still that will be able to actually fix it correctly. You might just be screwed...

thats terrible. i hate this mentality of lease it, use it for a few years with little to no maintenance and then throw it away when the next 200 dollar a month car comes along

Well,apparently I need an entirely new transmission,and the total bill will be $4200,a third of what I paid for the car. I think Pennsylvania state lemon law is 12k miles of owning it,which I don't think I accumulated yet,so maybe there's some hope there. I'm not going to drop out of school because Dodge wants to sell me some fucked up piece of shit. This is bullshit and I plan on fighting this.
