Bad Hostname
I'm sure that more than one of you has tried to visit zoklet in the last week and ran into the error "Bad hostname" or something similar (you probably got a "service unavailable" error if you use SSL). This has to do with the last message I posted in the "server news, updates, and downtime" thread.
Apparently another machine at the datacenter has been stealing our main IP address (repeatedly) and causing problems for us. I've complained to the host several times - each time they say they've fixed it... yet the problem keeps coming back. This last time they told me that they unplugged the offending machine. Ironically, the accidentally unplugged US instead of that machine. After that was corrected and the RIGHT machine was unplugged, the error seems to have disappeared.
I really want to tell you that this will be the last time we see this problem, but it might not be. It hasn't come back in 2 days now, so I think we're in the clear.

There used to be a bunch of assholes that posted on this part of zoklet here... But we systematically removed them like you would any kind of termite or roach.
