I've had many operations inside of my ear which freaked me out a lot more than getting a bloody tooth removed. And yeah what sauce will you use?

Then I can see why it wouldn't freak you out to get a tooth removed. I haven't ever had surgery before so it freaks me out. And about the sauce, well... I can use my secret sauce, or I can use my secret sauce 2.

Seriously, don't stress over it. I've had major operations and having teeth pulled is jack squat.

Just do your best to put it out of your head and relax. It's going to happen one way or another and you'll probably feel better after having them out in long run.

Take a few deep breathes and basically just submit yourself to the procedure happening.

You're going to go have a nice little nap and when you wake up your mouth is going to be sore and you're going to have to eat a bunch of baby food essentially. Ibuprofen isn't really too great for the pain but it's is a miracle for the swelling with some ice.

Ok thats a fair enough statement. But think about when you were little kid and you would wiggle your own tooth out? (if you did that) seriously you will wake up maybe with a little pain. Buy some weed and smoke that when you get home, and I don't think I want any sauce now..

WHAT IS A SANDWICH WITHOUT THE SAUCE?
Look, I slaved over a hot stove, A HOT FUCKING STOVE to make you this sandwich.
Now, you're going to choose a sauce and you are going to like it.

Yeah you'll wake UP with little pain (if any).. but once those high grade anesthetics for the surgery wear off, you're in for a world of hurt for about a week, during which time hopefully they'll give you either a hydrocodone or oxycodone based prescription to take which will help dramatically.

basically you're gonna be stuck eating things that don't require a whole lot of chewing till the wounds close up and the sutures dissolve - takes about 2-3 weeks typically.

also they say not to smoke because you could of course get dry socket, however I kept my toking down to a bare minimum and i was fine, as should you if you not go crazy.

I fucking LOLed hard at that. Hard.

Again, I wouldn't worry about it, It's far from serious. Nobody can tell you how your recovery will be and they can't even start to try unless they know how many you have coming in ( I had a sibling with 5 ) and how many are impacted. If they're impacted it generally takes a little more effort. If you didn't already know, an impacted tooth is basically coming in sideways. They fucking hurt.

I just though I'd post in here because I've got an appointment booked for next week about mine. I'm 21 and never had any surgery in my life, no sedatives, nothing. Should be a fuckin fun experience except for the pain afterward I've heard about.

Eeek, you give pretty terrible advice man.

Smoking weed, or anything for that matter, will give you dry socket, which is far more painful than the surgery itself. The blood clots in the mouth get pulled out via the suction caused by smoking, then the "wound" gets exposed to air and particulates. Not FUCKING good! Don't smoke any weed. Eat brownies if you can't go without your weed for a week or so.

I am 26 and just got my top two out in december, the dentist just gave me about 6 shots on each side of my mouth and left me there for about 20 minutyes for it to kick in and came in and started tugging and pushing but all I could feel was a little pressure, oh and when i was getting numb i apparently bit the inside of my cheeks pretty good and they were bleeding a little but.
when i was done the doc gave me 20 7.5 vics and some anti biotic and i was out of vics the next day so i just called him and told him they were not touching the pain and he had me come in and he gave me 7.5 percs (20 of them) so i was nice and high for the first like 4 days and after that my mouth was fine anyways

Does this seem a bit excessive? Not to mention the IV sedative which I didn't want to ask what it was.

Also, what was it like when you woke up from the operation?
i did but they didnt give me shit.
it might have been because they only took one out. even though they had to cut and drill then stitch it up and all that shit.

i guess it didnt really hurt too badly though

i was about to be like "lolwut are you fuckin kidding? "

but now that i think about it, i don't remember if they did or not...

i do remember coming out of the sedative and being sort of in autopilot mode... my body kept trying to sit up, i was pushing the nurse's hands away and shit. obviously not knowing what i'm really doing. so maybe they did strap me down at first?

i don't know.

Be warned! Wisdom teeth removal is a huge profit making racket for dentists. I was "advised" that my wisdoms were coming in crooked like a year and a half ago. I was to apathetic to follow through with the removal, and thank the lawd I didn't. Almost 2 year in and I haven't had any problems with them yet.

Every time I see a thread named this, I remember when I got a bottle of 25 perc 10s for free. Don't be a pussy and just eat aspirin and smoke weed to kill the pain and wait until your mouth isn't mutilated, then eat or sell what you get. Most people get vicodin and lortabs though.

I got mine out at 18. I got all four removed, anesthesia put me right out. No pain until about a week after, then I got a little ache, but I thought it was dry socket starting, and I got all paranoid. It wasn't dry socket, and I did fine. I got 20 Oxycodone/APAP 5 mg pills.

Perc 5's, big whoop. I did all of them in the first few days. Bought some M-Boxes to help me "heal" as well.
