Estrogen is good for the brain too. It's a brain steroid. However if you take too much or for too long you can, if a male, have feminising effects on your body, such as breast tissue growth. It can also alter your personality by feminising your brain if you are on too much for too long also.

How does one get/take estrogen? It's not exactly something you can buy at a pharmacy or get a prescription for...I don't think. -___-

You can get a prescription for it, but like everything else you need a legit reason and there are side effects your doctor will be weary of. You can find testosterone and a bunch of other hormones, most likely estrogen too, online. I'm not sure of the legal status of hormones, but they are at least regulated. Posession without a prescription may be illegal, I don't remember but I think it was kind of a grey area.

edit: some plants and herbs have estrogen or estrogen prodrugs (prohormones?). Soy is a well known source.

I'm not sure if I should continue trying the racetams for now. I think that it was probably a placebo effect I experienced the first time I took them, because I didn't feel shit days afterward when I was taking them. I'm going to get tested for hypothyroidism because I have schizophrenia and schizophrenics often have hypothyroidism. And hypothyroidism is associated with racetams not working right.

Moreover, I'm going to try dimethylglycine to treat my minor cognitive problems. DMG gets turned into sarcosine at the liver and hopefully the sarcosine reaches the brain as glycine to stimulate the NMDA receptor or a related receptor - thereby improving my cognition. I doubt that this possible cognitive enhancer would work in healthy people since NMDA receptor activity is hypofunctional in schizophrenics and overstimulation could result in neuron death.
