What's with all the train simulators and shit on Steam?

Does anyone actually buy these, like, there are literally over $1000 of expansion packs for Railworks 2 on Steam. I see advertisements for them all the time.

Does anyone actually buy these? Who likes trains this much that they would just dump money on a train simulator?

Same thing with the Ship Simulator game even though that only has like two expansions it looks like.

Railworks actually looks like it might be kind of fun to mess around with but it just seems over the top in its detail and the fact that there are over $1000 of DLC for the game is just ridiculous.

Does seeing these ads make anyone else rage?


Oh and by the way, I was addicted to this DOS train sim when I was in first grade. That game was awesome! This Railworks 2 shit looks like the definition of overkill.

Yeah saw this a while ago, it is pretty bizarre. They packaged them all together in one of the Steam sales and it was like £600. I can see how there would be a market for it though, probably not very big but enough people are obsessed with trains that they could make some money.

Test out the feasibility of using a British built Class 158 Multiple Unit on this busy German mainline. Starting at Plettenburg, run the unit up to Hagen, stick as close to the timetable as you can.

Sounds fucking thrilling...

I just checked youtube, there's some crash video compilations. Its interesting, but not enough to make me want to go pirate a copy.

ive never played this train sim but i played some 18 wheel semi truck sims and those were pretty fun but i couldnt run them very well.
