Getting a birth Certificate
So here the situation:
If a child is born in one state but died in another (the death certificate is made at the other state), but the parents shipped the child to be buried back where he is born, would the Vital rec people know he is dead?
Also, if you pose a the dead person and requested the Birth certificate, but they know he is dead, what will happen to you?

Re: Getting a birth Certificate
Fake BCs used to be super simple, you could do it all by mail (or so I'm told), but about 30 years ago they changed the way it works. The dead baby thing is out the window because states check a national database for death certificates.
I don't know what happens to requests under dead people's names, but I would assume worse case scenario and that you would be reported / v&.

Re: Getting a birth Certificate
the national database as in the Death index of each state or is it the SSDI ?
I'd think that the Death index of each state is not nationalized yet?

I'm pretty sure it's the SSDI. Don't know for sure but I wouldn't be suprised if they did a check of police and/or FBI records, which would probably include being dead. I'm really just guessing on that last one though.

Re: Getting a birth Certificate
1.) http://ssdi.rootsweb.ancestry.com/
Social Security Death Index. Keep in mind that not everyone who's dead is listed on there, especially kids who died when they were extremely young. There is no comprehensive national death index.
To get a birth certificate, you have to provide a lot of information. Such as: Sex, DOB, Full name, County/City of birth, Full mother's maiden name, full father's name, your relationship to the person on the certificate, and a phone number.
2.) Attempted ID theft or some variant.

Re: Getting a birth Certificate
1. Another thing is would the State's Vital records he was born in know that the child is dead since he was buried back there even though he died in another state?
2. What would be the best excuse to order the BC? As the child? Or as the relative?

Re: Getting a birth Certificate
This might help a little bit
worse they can say once you write for the records is no or denied
http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/w2w.htm
So using that link lets pick on Florida for example
How to obtain a Florida Birth Certificate by mail
Quote:
Birth
Event: Birth
Cost of copy: $9.00
Address:
Department of Health
Bureau of Vital Statistics
P.O. Box 210
1217 Pearl Street (Zip 32202)
Jacksonville, FL 32231-0042
Remarks: State office has some birth records dating back to April 1865. The majority of records date from January 1917. (If the exact date is unknown, the fee is $9.00 for the first year searched and $2.00 for each additional year up to a maximum of $50.00. Fee includes one certification of record if found or statement stating record not on file.) Additional copies are $4.00 each when requested at the same time.
Personal check or money order should be made payable to Bureau of Vital Statistics. To verify current fees, please visit our website or call our telephone number (904)359-6900. This will be a recorded message. Information on how to obtain certified copies is also available via the Florida Department of Health, Vital Records website
All letters or applications must include the signature, relationship/eligibility stated, and a copy of a valid PICTURE ID (Driver's License, Passport, Military ID. or State Identification card) of the applicant.
Birth records in Florida are confidential by law. Please visit our website for information on eligibility
|
worth a try if you can get all the info required, and better to do it by mail like this site gives info on.
copy of a picture id...
*tip - hope your photoshop skills are good

Re: Getting a birth Certificate
I'd order the BC as a relative just to err on the side of caution.

Re: Getting a birth Certificate
Thx a bunch on the infos. What would be a common reason to request the bc as a relative though? Since they do want to know.

Fire/kid is applying to school. It worked for people I know (as a legitimate request).

Re: Getting a birth Certificate
Sometimes people lose track of family info like maiden names and shit, its common practice for people more on top of things to apply for certs on behalf of other people. Also records get destroyed all the time (fucking thieving bitch lanny )

Who the hell loses track of their mothers maiden name? I mean, it's your grandparents' name, how do you forget that?

I'd claim fire/etc, that's the simplest way.
The DOB will be on the ID.

The dad is a relative...
As long as your applicant is a close family member, you're ok. It's possible to doctor the ID to say what you want it to say. It's a photocopy.

Re: Getting a birth Certificate
No I mean , I don't have the dob or other info about his dad or uncle etc. Just names
And I only have the middle initial of his dad thus I'm afraid if they'll ask for full name.
Unless I can just give first and last name

They ask for full names iirc. Like it's been said before, they ask for a lot of info, and they verify it.
You should look into other ID games. Ghosting isn't as easy as it once was.

I guess if they ask, you can make up info about the dad, and say their records are wrong. If you get real defensive with a "I think I know more about myself than some ho-dink government agency" they might back down and just give you the certificate.

You're dealing with the government. The fascist machine does and says what it wants. If his shit doesn't mesh with theirs, he's not getting that paper.

You'd be surprised, the government may be a "fascist machine" but it's employees are still people, and very incompetent people at that. I've gotten through more than one building department by throwing a shit fit and accusing a plan checker of being a failed architect.

Re: Getting a birth Certificate
sounds like it really depends the place and the people we are dealing with.
And what kind of "things" we can do to get away with.
I do agree with all of you actually...
Hmm.... "thinking"
