I don't read much DC but last I checked Bruce Wayne was alive. He did "die" in some story line a year or so back. He was zapped by Darkseid and fried to crisp.

However I think they rectonned and said he was actually sent back in time or some stupid shit, I don't know, DC sucks.

Though if you think you're confused now, wait till August when they throw out all continuity and restart ALL issues with a #1... That's right, DC is about to make all your collection worthless, storyline wise. They're also going to do online distribution, screwing over comic book shops.

So yeah, pretty much everyone hates DC right now. My advice, go pick up a Marvel or Image comic title and stick with that for a while. Cause DC is gonna be fucked for the foreseeable future.

That's not a new trick, and it usually means they're just adding an extra title for you to spend money on to the line. Like with the X-Men and Spiderman bullshit, Astounding, Amazing, Spectacular, Uncanny, Friendly Neighborhood, Class, etc etc infinitum. Generally one line has the retcon, and the other is the updated bullshit, and you end up spending twice as much if you want both. Did DC clarify exactly how they're handling that?

^^Yes they did. It begins when 'Flashpoint' ends basically, but you're wrong in a sense. This is not a counter line of comics being released along side the old issues, it's throwing out everything that happened and starting over with fresh new stories. Batgirl will be Barbara Gorden again for Cthulhu's sake! She's been crippled forever! FOREVER! Now DC plans on alienating it's handicapped audience by taking one back through a retcon... Theirs been plenty of Batgirls besides her sense, but only one Oracle. Batman Inc. is also set to continue, albeit after everything gets thrown out, why continue with it starting over from #1 if everything fucking changes?

Marvel had the Ultimates line as a separate line taking place in a different universe/dimension (kind of like an extended 'What if'). Sure it's a clever way of stepping around rebooting or doing a retcon, but it worked beautifully! We still have those lines separate and some of the Ultimate titles are actually being phased out now that sales have slumped. It did have a really nice run for the past decade though (mostly in the beginning). Latest retcon in Marvel was actually 'Secret Invasion', in which we find out Skrulls are invading and have replaced a number of heroes with doubles, and some thought dead heroes are actually still alive. Not bad, but not good either... It's alright though, clearly not as bad as DC is fucking up with this. Forget 20 plus years of mostly decent story telling, character development, plot lines/story arcs, deaths/resurrections, and so on... It's all gone in favor of a strange new alien DCU. Or aka, lets try milking a younger audience base with new stories not bogged down by years and years of continuity by axing said continuity.
