Yeah I can't get it into my kid's thick skull that when you put money into a car then under the bonnet first. Who gives a fuck about 'body kits'. I've painted cars with tractor paint before now, stops the rust and that's all I'm bothered about. I'd rather have more cubics than gloss.

Your perspective is skewed. Just because a car is fast does not make it a nice car. And the other shit you're talking about (ie: body kits) can properly be done, it is just sadly (in the case of your kid) fucked up beyond all repair. Making a car look good is just as important as how it performs, unless you're building an all out drag car, then it doesn't matter what it looks like at all.
