Default So A Friend Ordered Some Stuff...

...yesterday, and now he can't log into the Amazon account! He did it at the public library and tested the card first by attempting to buy an Amazon MP3 (and it worked!), so he got excited and did 1 order that totaled to around $400, and then decided to do another that was $900...

Did he ruin his chances? Since he can't log onto the Amazon account anymore, he figures that the CC company called the guy to confirm the purchase, who then denied it (obviously), and then the CC company told Amazon and they closed the account. When he tries to log in, it just says its an invalid e-mail/password combination, when he knows FOR SURE that it's correct. He even tried changing the password with the "Forgot Your Password" button, and it says it changed, but he still can't log in

He has the order confirmation in his email (not his real email don't worry), but he never got any emails saying the orders shipped even tho he did 1-day shipping.

Did he screw it up by ordering too much?

Usually it will tell you if the account is closed or suspended. And the amount you ordered was waaay to high, man.

Did he use an Amazon account with his real name and info, etc.?

If so, your friend is a fucking idiot. But yes, ordered way too much.

Greed (Latin, avaritia), also known as avarice or covetousness.
Try with a lower amount next time

no dude thats not too greedy. either way they would've found out. just go to the house when its supposed to be there and see. your best bet would be to add the cards to a paypal and charge virtual gold like in games like runescape, and then resell the gold to launder the money to a clean paypal

Your friend is was too greedy. Anything that you think that can possibly flag a purchase usually DOES end up flagging it due to it being retarded.

I have another question!
My friend (the same one!) has another "set" of CC info, but the only thing he doesn't have is the phone number for the person's billing address. Is there somewhere he could possibly find it besides whitepages.org (it's not on there...)?
Do you really even need the phone number? He didn't want to try it by putting in a random phone number because he was scared it could possibly cause it to be flagged or something. Thanks guys. You're all a huge help!

and I'll definitely make sure my friend is a lot less greedy next time What's a good price to stop at? Stay under $200? Or is even that too high?

I can't tell you if you need the phone number or not if I don't where your purchasing from. As for obtaining the number, find as many reverse lookup sites as possible. Google should be your best friend. If your friend has the CC info. Look up the policies on the card to see how much you would have to spend to get alerted for a hefty purchase.

Agreed. Also, does your friend know the person who's CC info they have? Or are they a random stranger? If you have inside information, doing purchases while they are at work, on vacation, etc. are your best bet in terms of them having a less chance of noticing [right away].

I wouldn't purchase anything from a website that needs your phone number. If they do ask for a phone number, I don't think it would be the number associated with the credit card. Usually it's so they have a number to contact you in case something goes wrong with the order.
