Default Vanilla Ice sampling Queen, or just ripping them off?
My roommate is arguing with me that Ice Ice Baby is just sampling Under Pressure.
I side with him ripping them off.

Can anyone define what "Sampling" is, in layman terms, in addition to outlining why or why not Vanilla Ice is just a beat jacking faggot? I am dealing with a woman, so if I am right, I need very simple terms to put this in.

What do you mean at the time? people still sample a shit load. And it is a problem, lot's of producers/djs/rappers have been sued over sampling issues.

Ron Carter sued Dr. Dre because Dre sampled one of Carter's bass lines for the chronic. I think the settled out of court

James Newton sued the Beastie Boys over a three note flute sample on Pass the Mic. Newton lost.

IRC vanilla ice got some guy to play it on a bass and used that, he didn't just jack it from queens song.
