Exclamation simple vegan recipe ideas?

All I've eaten today is nuts, because there's nothing else to eat here :/

Gonna go to the store in a bit, but I have no idea what to buy. Kind of tired of most things. Can you think of anything WAY easy and pretty yum to make? I love spicy.

thx <3

Depends on what cycle you're in. You always have to feed your body the nutrients that you need.

Whether you're needing vitamins from greens, fiber, protein, vitamins from fruit, etc.

Hmm that's hard. Can do vegetarian easy but not so sure about completely vegan.

Could do a stir fry - fry up garlic chilli and ginger (and five spice if you have it), add peppers, mushrooms, cashews and spring onions (or whatever vegetables you want). Then add some soy sauce and sesame oil, that kind of thing, towards the end. Eat with rice.

There's plenty of Indian recipes I could give you but depends what spices and stuff you have. My Dad used to live in South India and most of them are vegetarian so got some really nice vegan recipes (or close to vegan, that could be adapted). Buy some ground coriander, cumin, turmeric, chilli powder, mustard seeds, fenugreek and with an onion, some garlic and a few vegetables you can make delicious food whenever you like.

Could also make a bean chilli, look for a recipe. Basically fry onion, garlic, chilli and ginger. (Ground coriander, cumin and paprika if you have it) Add beans, mushrooms, bell peppers and a couple of tins of tomatoes..

^ This is the most basic thing. Just get some good tasting vegetables, even some zuchini or squash and just make a big vegetable meal. Seasonings and flavorings from there are up to you. Usually herbs like ginger, curry, garlic, cayenne, etc will work well.

When I'm hungry now, because I've been doing it for so long (not that long), I can tell what my body is hungering for, for the most part.

So I know what will satisfy my desire to eat, and give me energy. IE: Not just fill my stomach, but also actually be what my body was looking for.

Dhal is an excellent call. Chop potatoes into inch cubes, toss with caraway seed and a little peanut oil, roast at 200 for an hour. consume en masse.

If you want something quicker, go for chickpeas. You can do damn near anything with chickpeas. I like making up a morrocan spice mix (tumeric, paprika, cayenne pepper, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, a little black pepper), dust that shit over a couple tins of drained chickpeas and either toast them in a dry skillet, or roast in the oven with a little peanut oil for about 15 minutes at 220. Fucking awesome shit, you won't be able to stop eating it.

I also like making bean salads, I'm a vegetarian not a vegan though so I include ricotta cheese, feel free to cut it out. Basically, four bean mix, and finely diced red onion, bell peppers, cucumber, tomato, and/or any other colourful, bright-tasting salad vegetables with a good texture. Ricotta works awesomely with it. Then just eat that shit from the bowl, or I like to throw it in a spinach wrap.

Speaking of spinach - Toasted english muffins, olive butter, spinach, salt and pepper. do it.

^ Exactly, you really have to know what you're doing. Go natural. Or don't. Half-assing it doesn't count. Know what you're doing.

You should look at this site for ideas. It's both vegan and vegetarian - most of the vegetarian recipes make it easy enough to turn it vegan.

how about some grass, you must have a lawn.

or wait, is the grass being unfairly treated; sliced apart with big, blunt metal blades once a week, stomped on day in and day out by inconsiderate humans, wallowing in animal shit and piss 24/7, never able to move from its confines of your lawn and so you are boycotting the grass industry to fight the power?

it's good to see someone standing up for the little guy.

but you're a little misguided..

grass loves to be grass! they are simple organisms, and happy ones if they are being treated well. they like bare human feet walking upon them, and i think animal waste helps to nourish them in some gross way.

you should be more concerned about the unhappy trees that are cut down

Well you're an idiot vegan then.

If you seriously live as a vegan then you should know how to obtain the vitamins and minerals you need from alternative foods since you don't eat dairy or meat. You must be incredibly unhealthy if you don't know how to cook simple vegan dishes that utilise important things like grains, legumes, beans etc.

All vegans I've known have had to learn to become good cooks in order to survive on such a diet. I suggest you try and learn, hence why I gave you a site with in-depth recipes.

Yes, not necessarily directly, but by over-use of the industry it would end up raping the bee's knees. So maybe not honey, I just figured that's a better taste.

I get a lot of protein from peanut butter. It has a lot of fat and that seems to work.

Besides, even if you go get honey naturally, from nests that won't be destroyed because they're big enough like in the jungle, you're eating be spit and sugar. So that's "animal". It's also not organic, so it depends on what you're looking for.

Question: Do peanut's scream?

Quote:
Our all-natural peanut butter blended with yummy maple syrup. People have been telling us that they love to spread peanut butter on pancakes
and waffles for years. They love the way the rich and creamy peanut butter blends with sticky, sweet maple syrup to create an unbelievable taste sensation. This new variety of peanut butter is a tasty way to enjoy two great flavors - try it on toast, stirred over oatmeal, or on a sandwich.

It contains no cholesterol, no trans fats, no hydrogenated oils, and no high-fructose corn syrup. It is also gluten-free, certified vegan, and certified kosher pareve by the Orthodox Union. The shelf life is 6 months after opening, if stored in a cool, dry place.

Bees are dying off in alarming rates and we require them to pollinate flowers and plants for fruit and food. Beekeeping is a very managed operation; The loving way beekeepers look after their bees would shock you.

Yes I know of this. I'm talking about the downside, basically, of humanity and their effects. This includes the people who tend to do things more callously than others. Or it could simply be the mistake of remaining ignorant to certain cross-effects from things like location, using certain methods or our influence on natural biological factors or weather.

It would be strange if some animals we "use" became entirely dependent on our production for existence. It would then be strange if we became dependent on them. But that first part is the important part, like any relationship, as long as we're being respectful and giving back, everything is cool. Of course, some people might not want to eat animal products, including what's in honey.

And thus, the part I missed, we better hope they're not dying because of us.

Or just eat/drink some of this with almond milk.

Yes, but I don't think bees are mistreated/abused to produce honey. Especially not if the honey comes from an actual beekeeper (which is by far the best).

So it's probably an animal product, but I don't think it's morally wrong to eat it. Not to mention all the great uses honey has in 'natural' medicine.

Mmmh, nature works. But you gotta know what you're doing. See.. that's how this works.
