Are you ready?
Are you ready to die? That is the ultimate transition (or end) point of every person's life. Whether they ascend (different than "death"), move on to higher planes, or simply die out into forgetfulness, all humans have the task of consciously/mentally preparing themselves for this moment. Like all tasks, preparation is for the upkeep of the performance during the initial event, so as to "hold together" and see the "point", if there is one.
The idea then, would to be come to terms with yourself, and your past, and your future, personally, mentally, physically and emotionally. Some may call this overall determining of one's self, and goal and the realizations therein, a spiritual awareness. Either way, coming to these conclusions, and making them known and understood, at least to your self, and how it relates to the rest of the world and your life, is something that will help you when the time comes.
So the question is, have you prepared yourself for the ultimate transition point of your physical existence? Are you prepared to die, or lift into the unknown, whether there is more beyond this existence or not, you will be conscious at the moment of death, or rather directly before.
So how you act in that moment, will determine how you will feel if there is anything more, and let's just say, for the sake of determining, if there wasn't anything more, you would definitely not want to spend your last waking moments in a frenzied panic thinking and feeling the worst.
So how to learn how to react or act in the moment, is a life-long journey, requiring many skills and insights that will be picked up along the way, but letting go is the easiest option when you have rid yourself of the irrelevant worldly reminders that will hold you down, if they go un-tended to, while you're here and now.
So have you, the people of the forum, really thought about death in that view, that it is something to be transcended, regardless of what it may hold, in that it is a challenge of awareness and psyche. A challenge that you may overcome if you proper develop, through intuition or otherwise, a conclusion and understanding of what it means and what you want out of the situation.
Most people fear death and thus fear even the idea or talking about it. I say it will help, as you can fear the inevitable, but you cannot undermine it, that is, without changing the largest parts of your "reality".
Do you fear death? Have you thought about it? Do you consider it a fallacy to provide insight or understanding there, and how do you think you could prepare with the final moment? Where do you see yourself in the moment, how do you think you would react?
How do you think one is supposed to act?

Does it matter anyway? I'll be dead.
I forget who said this but it was something like death isn't anything to fear, because if you are alive then death isn't around and if you're dead, then what's to fear?

Only when Im doing dangerous things and about how I don't want to die!

I see it as pointless because no one really knows and as biological beings like every other breathing, reproducing, and defecating animal on earth we all die the same.

If Allah is with you then what do you have to fear, If He is not then how can you possibly succeed.

We're all slowly dying, it doesn't matter.
Life is meaningless.

Re: Are you ready?
If I were ready to die, I'd kill myself.
Not to sound depressed or anything (cause I'm not), but if I ever got to a point in my life where I feel like I've accomplished everything I need to, I'd kill myself. There's no way I'd cling onto a miserable half-life, just waiting to go.

I am ready to dive into the ocean of nonexistance.
My progress is too slow, I need to meditate more.

This. I was already 'dead' for eons before my birth. Death would only serve as going back to my truly natural state of non-existence.

Re: Are you ready?
I can barely tell the difference between life and death at the moment anyway. If life is conciousness in a metaphysical sense, then it has little to do with being a physical event. If conciousness is a byproduct of animal survival instincts and is simply a deterministic force of nature, then what do you have to lose? I can't really fear what happens after death because it is impossible to percieve... except maybe in the act of losing/extending conciousness beyond the sensory field.

Re: Are you ready?
This is the paradox: Life is the most beautiful thing. Death is the ugliest. You only get to see the beautiful side of life after you see the ugliest.

Ate this is like the 9th thread you have bumped in the last hour and a thread that is almost a year old at that. You are just proving that Mods can break rules that regular users would be banned over.

He's a Mod. He can have it changed if he gets enough people on his side. Otherwise it is a form of trolling and should get him banned.

Re: Are you ready?
Ok, well I don't know if the rule exists or not but it certainly shouldn't so why doesn't everyone just ignore it? I mean, do people honestly infract others because of that? It just seems too far-fetched to believe. There's no purpose to it, other than getting someone in trouble.

Re: Are you ready?
In my experience that has nothing to do with death unless you don't know where you're going in life. It's a delusion based upon fear of continuing responsibility of a larger than life self.
