barbiturates are still prescribed and still abused.

Not very much at all, at least in the US and based on my own experience. Benzodiazepines pretty much replaced barbiturates, since the former is much much more difficult to take a lethal dose of. I don't think I've ever seen a barbiturate lol. Oh, there was this lady in the psych ward one time who was prescribed phenobarbital lol.

Phenobarbital has shit abuse potential, my grandma takes it for epilepsy...
I tried it once (took 6) and just slept/felt groggy for a couple days.

These fucking things also have such contradictory information.

Yesterday amidst the news about the Obama administration fucking with the medi marijuana places in canada i read some shit from christian news or whatever the site was saying that only 5-10% of kids 12-17 have smoked pot.

However, this site OP posted says 1 in 10 kids have abused cough syrup.

Youre gonna fucking tell me just as many kids smoke pot as robo trip? Fuck no.
