Default Different benzos and how they effect memory

Hey guys. Sorry if this doesn't come out right but I figured tonight was the right time to test out my small batch of MPA and I'm feeling speedy as fuck

Anyway, I self-medicate my social anxiety by taking Xanax (usually 1mg) when I really feel the need to. Anyway, I was thinking of changing to something a little longer lasting due to Xanax being so short-acting. But I was also wondering if different benzos have different effects on memory; like, when I take Xanax, my memory definitely suffers.

Would something such as, say, Klonopin or Valium be better, or are they all generally the same?

Thanks

With each person it differs -and, tolerance plays a big part.

If you want something for anxiety - and not necessarily to get high - that lasts a bit longer, I would try Klonopin or Valium. You really have the right idea there, as far as what your needs are and what you're looking for. I can bring up the names of a few benzos that might indeed last longer, but, I don't think they'll be as easily and readily accessible as Klonopin or Valium.

On the equivalency scale, I noticed that once you start going over 2-3mgs, the chances of your memory being inhibited increase ten fold, along with the amnesiac side effects.

Thanks dude, I'll definitely try Klonopin/Valium in the future

On a side note, I also have some Etizolam that I have yet to try. Any opinions on this? I'm sure there was an Etizolam thread around here actually, am off to read that

Read that thread, then. I honestly have no experience with Etizolam, whatsoever. So, your best bet would be finding someone else around here who does. Which, knowing this place, shouldn't be too hard!

i think its hands down the best benzo ive tried.its perfect for what your looking for, and memory retention is a lot better with eti, than xanax.

What dose do you typically take? Are you prescribed them? Or, do you just use them for recreation on occasion?

Benzo's are a one way ticket to hell.

Unless you want to end up with permanently worse anxiety, along with panic attacks and tonic-clonic seizures I suggest you switch to something more benign... like valerian or some other herbal shit.

Yeah, a lot of people don't get this.

Once you start taking them consistently, if you cease taking them - that alone will make you anxious, not to mention the anxiety you're going to experience once you get adjusted to your prescribed dose.

My aunt had a really positive reaction to an anti depressant for her anxiety. those aren't habit forming and the change in feeling is very gradual. I'd recommend trying to go this route if you really feel you must do medicine. Also some antihistamines are pretty good, very little "high", but they take the edge off.

I've only noticed memory loss with benzos when I've abused them, either by taking a dose far higher than what the doctor said, or when I mixed a decent dose with a decent amount of alcohol. I have experience with diazepam (Valium) and alprazolam (Xanax.) If you want something with longer term effects I really recommend diazepam. When I'm on it I usually take it for about a week and try to keep 15-20mg in my bloodstream (the half-life is about 48 hours), it works wonders for anxiety and I'm yet to notice any memory problems. Alprazolam (the Xanax) is more of something to take right before a hardcore social event or before a date with a Victoria's Secret model. It's also what you get if you just want to get fucked up.

Thanks guys

Thanks for ya'll concern about the longer-term problems of taking benzos; I researched loads on all this before I decided to go and get some. I reckon I'll be fine though. I rarely take them if I'm honest. They're sort of a take-in-emergency thing (I got a pack of 60 about 3 months ago, counted them yesterday and I still have 40 left).

Will try Etizolam soon

Valium>Xanax

Valium always worked better for me, and it doesn't require re dose like most benzos, unless you are a huge tolerance
