Default I need help with an MD3000i Dell Raid Controller.

I have an MD3000i ISCSI SAN that acts as the storage for my ESX server. I recently had a failed battery module in the Raid controller and need to replace it. From the documentation i have found online i know that this is a hot plug-able card and i should not loose any data as long as i replace it when it is not being used, my question is once replaced do i have to reprogram the raid settings or will the SAN automatically configure it to the proper settings?

If i have to program it where do i access these settings in the Modular Disk Storage Manager Utility? Can i somehow copy the current settings and push it to the new controller?

Grin Re: Hai

I would opt for reading the raid controller's manual. For HP hardward raid controllers, they typically prompt at boot saying it detected a drastic change and can try to use an existing configuration.
