Do I need VALID state issued ID to fly?

Ok my license expired when I turned 21. I decided to not pay the $80 it costs for a new drivers licenses and instead just keep using my fake ID at the bars. So I'm relocating across country. I don't have time to order a new ID, and my current ID is expired by almost a year. I have a health insurance card, a birth certificate, and an expired NYS drivers license. I will also have two prescription bottles with my name on them (xanax and oxycontin, so idk if thats good or bad).

I would venture to say that yes. It need be a valid State or Federal ID.

Then again, I've only taken 1 trip via plane before.. and I just used my passport.

Technically the rules state that they have to prove your identity. So if you can show them documentation with your name its up to the TSA agent to determine whether or not you are who say you are. You then have to sign a form and fill it out with your name and address. and you are then subjected through extra security. usually they just make you take off your shoes and swab your bag down with a napkin that they put in a machine that tests for explosive particles.

If you are sincere and everything checks out then they should let you through. specially if you are white and young. Even if you technically have no legal status within the united states ! that's right they let me, an ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT onto a plane with no id.

i know it sounds stupid but i actually got on a flight once showing the TSA agent some papers saying i have to go to criminal court on a certain date. another time my mom showed her id. another time my dad showed his id. One time i was really fucking drunk off my ass and the TSA agents where really pissed off when the supervisor came and waved me through security.

Ive actually flown back and forth from Miami to new york about 3 times within the past year. Thats like 5 times i got on with no id. it would have been 6 but i took a greyhound bus last September from Miami to new york.


So yeah you should be good with that expired ID or your birth certificate even a credit card with your name on it will do. as long as your not black or sand nigger.

Just take Amtrak, a train ride is cool and much more laid back.
Sure it takes longer, but you get to see the countryside and relax.

The last few times I've flown domestically in Australia I've never had to present ID. Technically you're probably supposed to at least have one on you so you *can*present it if requested. I did use those self-check in machines though, I can't remember a time when I've actually done it the old school way with a real live person and they *haven't* checked my ID. Totally different country and laws though so this won't help you, but I thought I'd throw it out there anyway.

Word I guess I don't have a choice really NYS takes forever to ship out a new license and my plane leaves in a week. Fuck new york west coast here I come!!!
