Lightbulb Training a dog to smell money.

Have any of you heard about someone training a dog to sniff for money? I was thinking of training a dog to smell money and go around to parking lots, (particularly those of of shopping centers, bars) athletic feilds, parks, and other places and send the dog to go find dropped money and bring it to me.

it would make sense to train it to detect dope since all paper money has traces of residue (coke, weed meth etc) thats how drug dogs find $$ thats hidden

it can be seized as drug assets due to this and has been when nused to bail out certain people when arrested..

dogs casn now detect cell phones in prisons..how idfk..but it is being done.

pills afaik are not trained to be detected by k9 dope sniffers

I used to wish I had a machine that could do this, but a trained dog is much more realistic. Infact I bet the cops already have money sniffing dogs. Let me know if you ever get your hands on one. Fuck 20 dollar bills in tha parking lot, there are probably duffle bags full of cash in your hometown somewhere.

You'd have to be a serious dog trainer or have like ten grand to spend on a trained dog

Not really. Training a dog to associate certain smells with a reward is very easy. It just requires dedication.

money sniffing dogs do exist.. they are mainly used to find large deposits of hidden cash.

http://www.canberratimes.com.au/news...y/1442134.aspx

for small amounts its harder though.

Mehhh, I think the cost of food/vaccinations/vet stuff/other pet expenses would probably be a bit higher than the quarters and dimes you find. Nice idea though.

One of my dogs has sniffed money since he was a puppy but I doubt it would be worth it unless you were doing it to break into cars.

He also likes cocaine I would take him with me to deliver drugs for someone else sometimes and I would keep it in my hand in case i had to swallow it or toss it, and (it was in plastic) but he would keep licking at my hand trying to get to it.
