Why I Support the War on Drugs

Arguments Against the War on Drugs:
1.) Despite prohibition drugs are easily and widely available to the point where it is easier for most people under 21 to obtain marijuana than alcohol, meaning that the war on drugs is ineffective and wastes a shit ton of money every year.
2.) Junkies need help and need to be sent to rehab, not prison, punishing those who need help and not treating substance abuse as a public health issue makes no sense whatsoever.
3.) Prohibition ensures that the profits from drugs go to violent criminals instead of reputable and legitimate legal business.
4.) Any drug can be used and abused it is possible to do drugs without being an addict, just like it is possible to drink without being an alcoholic.
5.) The economic stimulus from reduced incarceration of up to 50% as well as the profits from legal drug businesses would be immense and exactly what we need in the recession.

If the war on drugs didn't happen than less people would be in jail and I'd be out of a job.
