I watched brotherhood first then got 1/4 through FMA as far as i was able to deduce they are pretty much the same Just better graphics.

nvmd i guess i shouldn't talk like i know when ive only been a little into fma before assuming its the same as brotherhood and quitting Isay go for brotherhood i watched in full plus ovas and was liek the best anime i watched in a while guess its time to download fma for further review

Wikipedias synopsis: the Elric brothers, Edward and Alphonse, who have already made a strong reputation of themselves despite Edward's short military career, are called upon by Führer King Bradley and Colonel Roy Mustang to hunt down rogue State Alchemist Isaac McDougal. Edward and Alphonse ambush and successfully capture their target. However, due to Ed's carelessness, the "Freezing Alchemist" finds an opening and escapes. The Elric brothers alongside the State Military are forced to confront McDougal again when he simultaneously activates numerous transmutation circles in Central, which creates an alchemic reaction encompassing the entire Central Command Center. Ed suspects the use of a Philosopher's Stone, but is unable to confirm his suspicion. Luckily, the Elrics, Major Alex Louis Armstrong, and Mustang succeed in thwarting McDougal's plans to bury Central in ice. The Führer confronts McDougal as he attempts to escape. In the brief battle that follows, Isaac is easily cut down by the Führer, who later credits both Colonel Mustang and the Elric brothers in helping accomplish the mission.


But then they fight the false prophet and the one part that made me sad which was around ep 5 was the scientist who turned his dog and daughter into a chimera very heart wrenching

Ya more like the manga it's a must watch just not after watching fma give a month or so and give it a watch. also if you find the movie send a link.

its been 2 weeks im addicted to FMA ... i just finished the firt FMA now im watching Brotherhood im at episode 44 ... god this show is addicting (i go on a anime binge really rarley .. last time was in 2010 watching onepiece lol)

I admit, FMA was a fun anime. I mean it was lame and had no artistic value and all that, but it was still a lot of fun. And there was a little intrigue there towards the end, so it's not a total wash. IDK, just one of my guilty pleasures.

I was fortunate enough to watch both series, FMA and Brotherhood. I liked both.. I watched Brotherhood a few years after FMA, so I naturally have a biased liking for it better.. Then again, I liked how the regular played out too.. Kinda like an alternative ending..

Brotherhood was pretty dope. Excellent plot, great characters, humor, etc. Not my favorite anime ever but top 5 or so.
