Boston is finally on the way out.
Laughing at how inconsistent Bryzgalov is, but not complaining we won 5-0.
Why are the Blues so fucking good this year?

Re: 2011-2012 NHL Season
Boston on the way out? They just beat a hot Sabers team and will be getting quality players back (Peverley, Horton, Rask) by season's end. Let us see how they play against Washington and Pittsburgh back-to-back before proclaiming the division-leading, championship-defending Boston Bruins to be "on the way out".

Re: 2011-2012 NHL Season
ottawas coming for you, boston. youve still got three games in hand but its better than six. only three points behind and there is a slight degree of truth in what she said, boston isnt playing nearly as well as they can or as well as they had earlier in the season.
i still would rather the senators finish sixth and take the panthers in the first round.

when bryzgalov is on hes easily my second favorite goalie to watch, he's got ice in his veins when he's hot, hes so casual and so good. favorite of course being a hot cam ward.

goalies keep getting bigger, i remember when bryzgalov came around i was like "this nigger isnt agile enough to play goalie, you cant be bigger than 6 feet and be agile enough to play goalie". then rinne came along and mind=blown.

Re: 2011-2012 NHL Season
bishop is fucking 6'7" - tallest goalie in league history.
there was article about him today in the paper that was talking about how he scalped some tickets when he was a kid in st.louis while the senators were in town. he had seats right on the ice and was watching patrick lalime play and noticed how he wore his pads which inspired bishop or something like that.
then the best part of the article "with his win over the rangers, bishop is now just 144 wins behind patrick lalime for most franchise wins by a goalie. bishop is 2-0"

Re: 2011-2012 NHL Season
yuck. exactly what the bruins didnt need. was able to get into the game on saturday (decent seats) but they fell flat in the first and again in the 2nd. I don't know why Julien didn't play Turco on Saturday.. sure, he just got there, but he's Marty Turco. And it was only Washington. And fatigue is clearly settling in on Thomas.

Re: 2011-2012 NHL Season
I'm at Rogers Arena right now, the nucks are up 2-1 against Columbus at the end of the 1st period. First time seeing them live, or any NHL game for that matter. My ginger Schnieder is in goal, doing well apart from the gayest of goals earlier on.
Overall this is way better than watching on TV.

7-0 with 1 min left in the second...I hope the leafs lose 10-0...I'm so disappointed in this season that for the first time in years losing games doesn't depress me, I actually watch the games and hope the leafs get raped...tired of maple leaf entertainment earning more money than any other sports franchise (by a wide margin) yet remaining to jew us fans with expensive ass shit ticket prices while giving us nothing but a horrible team year after fucking year.
Leafs are the new Cubs.

That's what Toronto gets for being full of arrogant new-yorker-wannabes.
Don't feel too bad, the Canucks are having a mild slump themselves. And they've never won the Stanley Cup. Of course, they're still one of the top teams this year and will have another shot at the cup this playoff season...

Cubs are the Cubs til they win. You can be the old, cursed Sox.
What makes you say Maple Leaf Entertainment makes more by a wide margin? I know they own the Raptors, maybe a soccer franchise and some facilities, and I know that they're quite valuable (if someone were to purchase them) but I also know that most sport franchises are privately owned, and keep their financials close to their chest (for a number of business-related reasons). Really just curious, more than anything.

so, who thinks radulov is gonna fuck some shit up in the west?
my prediction is itll take him a few games, maybe even the rest of the regular season, to get back into the swing of the NHL but come playoffs hes gonna be primed to kick some ass.

Sorry, I don't know why I wrote sports, I meant to say hockey...I'm sure they're nowhere near teams like Man Utd, The Yankees...anyway the margin was somewhere between 70-100 million above the second on the list, I can't remember exactly what it is, I read it in SI a few years back, maybe it's changed, but I'm sure they're still the top earners...But I mean, for a team that plays so awful, so consistently, it's fucked up that they still get so much support, or even more so that they continue to over price such supportive fans.
It's one of the reasons the leafs will never be a good team, because at the end of the day the team is nothing but a business, and as long as their making larger profits than the best teams, Stanley cup teams, then who cares right?

Ahh alright, makes sense. Yeah, it really is bullshit. In MLB teams like the Royals and Pirates pull the same shit cause there's enough revenue sharing for the owners to make bank. The Yanks, although wicked fucking valuable, have been losing some big money over the past...decade? They had that "win at all costs" mentality (see Mark Cuban/Mavericks) and finally are realizing it doesn't have to be that extreme.
Anyway, B's roll, B's roll

yeah man its pretty wack. i wanted to go to a sens/leafs game with my leafs fan buddy when i was around toronto for school, and the tickets that would cost you like $60 for a seat in scotiabank place were over $100 in toronto.
the team is purely a money making engine as opposed to a winning hockey club. which is doubly brutal for them now that theres a salary cap so the leafs cant use all this extra money they make to buy bomb players.

Re: 2011-2012 NHL Season
It's just supply and demand. Toronto is a big city with only 1 nhl team so obviously the seats will cost more. Parking costs more in Toronto than other cities, too. It's not because torontonians are die hard parking fans, there's just not that many spots.
