Because it puts a handicap on my own happiness. Instead of leaving the theatre so I could go home and spend the day doing what I wanted to, I had to "do the right thing" and go back.

I actually think "Lady Julily" is really smart, or at least persistant. It's obviously an alt, but it's a guy who's figured out how to become a moderator on here (being a woman, posting positively/neutrally). I'm not being sarcastic either. Just play along and maybe he'll leak M&A or do something lolzy.

You can never know for sure when life is going to present with an opportunity for happiness. It seems a little conceited to believe that not following all of your own fancies and whims is going to cap your happiness.

Life is full of surprises!

What would you do if you found a jack in box on your front door step? Would you turn the crank?

It depends on how you define "karma". You don't have to see it as a mystical force of any kind if that bothers you.

I like to think of karma in the sense that 'for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction'.

And because you think of it that way, it will have an affect on you via the placebo effect.

I suppose you could say that, yes.

Are you trying to be irritating? Because I think you are.
