It's actually quite easy to nut up and stop crying over shit. Sure there is time for mourning over whatever crap has happened but harming yourself is just such a bitch move, that shows you are even afraid of the change you could be making in your life, and would rather wallow in the comfort of self pity.

I've started smoking(again) recently, and so the cutting has ceased/stopped for now. I guess cigarettes are good for some things. 1 or 2 a day and I'm fine, should probably quit before I start smoking more.

That depends on if you punched yourself in the face or if someone else did. It also asks the question of if you intended to have the person punch you in the face.

If it was self done, or you intended to be punched in the face it is self-harm.
If it was just say, randomly getting punched in the face by some drunk on the street, then it is not self-harm.

A punch to the face can result in physical harm and could thus be classified as a very unusual type of self-harm.
