A few years ago he may have gone the OD route but he finally had a family that he loved so much and that was no longer in the question. All he ever wanted was a family of his own and he got it for a few short months. Thank you guys for the possitive responses.

Me and Doctor Acts were good friends who met on zoklet.

never met him IRL or anything like that, just talked on the phone.

i'm from STL and he was from philly or something, so us meeting was really not possible considering our financial status, etc..

but one day i called his phone and his mother answered. ( keep in mind i hadn't called him for a month or so and the only reason i did call was because he hadnt been on zoklet in a while so i just thought i would call to catch up) I got to talking to his mom, and she said that he had mentioned me and shit so she vaugely knew who i was and shit. Then she informed me that he had passed.

This shocked me to the core.... I didn't even know this dude, besides online, but we had exchanged many battle stories having to do with dope and shit, and he had just as bad of a problem as i had with heroin. No one is safe from opiates.

anyway i talked to his mother for a while, shared a good cry with her, and tried to confort her. I couldn't imagine losing my son so young either (21), so i shared a lot of compassion with her. Also knowing how he felt, being addicted to opiates and all, really opened my eyes, because i usually dont see this side of addiction.

she also sent me a card from his wake and stuff, and it was strange and nice to see a picture ofsomeone that i had talked to at least like thirty times on the phone. putyting a face to a voice was finally nice even though it was under terrible circumstances.

another strange fact, was that this death was not an overdose. Apparently according to his mother, the reason for death was still being investigated, but it was not an OD, but probably had something to do with drug use or over doing it.

just thought that i would share this because this thread seems to be somewhat about friends from &t or zok that have passed.

Only person I really knew fairly personally was KamikazePimp, used to talk to him all the time and we helped each other out with things here and there. That shit was sad too because he was honestly trying hard to get his life in order for the sake of his kid but the shit just caught up to him.

On topic though, i've seen Before the Opiate on the old BLTC numerous of times, even though i probably didn't know him as well as you guys it's always sad to see one of our own go.

Man, this shit is just hard to wrap your mind around. I remember being a newly reckless teenager into explosives and later drugs but I came into Totse like 7 years now and to see names I recognized and followed showing up in threads about them ODing or dying in some other manner over the years and that's not to mention prison. It's gut wrenching. I know I had some struggles like them but I got a grip and it kills me because some of these people were more intelligent than me and still had that fate.

Hell, I know I should be dead 10x over from the shit in my life and I'm only about half way to 23 now. It makes me wish I reached out to more people on here because there are some really good people mixed with total scum mind you but some really good people.
