Whats the most powerful gun you own (in joules)?

For me, its my 7mm Rem Mag w/ 150 grain ~4,300 joules

EDIT: It's a Remington 700 XCR

Remington 760 in .30-06, which I really need to get some dies for so I can finally load something a bit bigger than .223 Rem.

I also have a VZ-24 in 8mm Mauser that I haven't shot in years and may end up re-barreling to .35 Whelen, mainly because I think it would be funny.

Those 12 ga. 3 1/2 Ultra Mag 18-pellet buckshot shells are pretty fucking crazy though. Hardest recoil of anything I own.

I don't have anything ultra big boy yet, the .308 is probably the most powerful. Unless 7.62x54r is more joules but I don't know the joules for em. I'm planning on getting a new Sako rifle in .338, to match my Sako mosin, so I'm sure that will be the most powerful whenever I get it.

thats cool, I just wanted people to post about big caliber guns, not like an AR or Mac-10 something. 3 1/2's have to cool, I've only tried 3" shells (still fun though, but only a couple)

12 gauge with magnum slugs. Might not have more kinetic energy than some of the high performance rifles out there, but out does their momentum by a factor of 2 (at least).

I have never been a size freak. I recently sold a .45 ACP, too heavy for me.

My everyday carries include a .25 Beretta Jetfire and a tiny N. A. Arms revolver--not quite a derringer--chambered for .22 mag.

Biggest caliber I own is a collectable hammerless top-break Owlhead revolver, chambered for .32 S&W. It is way older than I am.

Anyone else tried the ultra-mag 12 gauges? I know they're less common than the 3" mags, but MAN they are fucking powerful! They're for turkey hunting and such usually, but the magnum 18-pellet buck shells are just amazing. Like I said, they are probably the hardest-recoiling long arm I have owned, and CLOSE to the hardest-recoiling I have ever shot, period. I have yet to shoot anything horrifying like the .505 Gibbs or anything. I shot a .50 BMG rifle once, but it was surprisingly-manageable because of its muzzle brake.

MK19 on the truck. Also, I used to have a MK14 but now I just have a M320 (standalone single shot).

But out of my personal collection I would have to say my pistol grip 500A 12 guage.

I still have a R700 in .338 lapua magnum. I got my dad working on selling it back in texas though, haven't shot it in years because every time i take a shot with it i just think "6.75 plus tax for this squeeze."

Yeah dude, it almost fills the damage bar, even higher than the FAL or TAR. Add the ACOG for extra range and you'll be unstoppable.

The funniest part of this is that the stat bars on the weapons in COD are meaningless. Analysts have gone over the code the games are written on and have shown that there is literally no correlation between how filled the particular stat bar is, and how effective the gun actually is in that particular area.

I like Mausers. I still have a Nazi Mauser that I bought from Mitchell's some time ago, it has the waffenaumts (might be the wrong spelling. They're the Nazi proofmarks) and a rune on it, as well as the SS Deaths-Head on the top of the receiver. It's awesome and all, in excellent condition and has great wood, BUT it was never actually used in the conflict...I'd rather have one with a provenance like Snoopy's, though - I bet that rifle has a million great stories behind it! Mine can only tell you how it was slimed-up with Cosmoline or something and stored in some vault for 50 years...lol. Care to share any of those stories, Snoop?

Nothing really romantic about it. It's my grandfather's gun that always sat quietly in the corner and got fetched if some drunken dickole was causing shit. The last time it had some serious use was in '92 or '93 when my grandfather was posted at a nearby bridge and a bunch of idiot rushed it in the night. Later we found out they weren't even armed. Just a few high idiots who tried to throw the small wooden guard post off the bridge.

I have a CETME that I set up like a PTR91, and it does feel nice unloading a magazine.

I have thought about selling it to fund a SCAR 17 though.

Yup, I've found it to be the most effective form of stress-relief. Recoil is monstruous on full auto but 4 seconds of holding the trigger pull and all your stress is gone. Or it could be from the obligatory chiropractor visit after.

Is the SCAR select-fire like the CETME too?

Not the one I will be getting when I am home unfortunatly. But honestly I never have been a big fan of full auto fire. I guess when they are an obligation and part of your job it takes the fun out of it all.

I guess so. I don't normally use full-auto (ammo is hard to get and expensive here), but I do find it to be an awesome stress reliever
