Just saw this the other night in cinema... Not sure how long it's been out everywhere else, because Egypt is slow as fuck with everything in life.

The film for me was a lovely whiff of fresh air. I was expecting an action-y movie based on Shakespeare, and I was pleasantly surprised to find they kept the elevated language.

Setting the film in Serbia, with a modern day setting was a great move. It shows that Shakespeare's pieces still have modern relevance, with today's economic and political climate.

The acting. Absolutely superb in the lead roles, but some of the less important roles were a bit cringeworthy. I know they tried to keep it play-like, but I would've liked to have seen a crowd reaction on a bigger scale, not just focussing on 2 or 3 reoccuring citizens to represent the populaiton, just to add to the grandness of it all.

Additionally, it's great they didn't whore themselves out to Hollywood, dumb shit down and advertise ott; that they kept it a low key, yet very well produced, movie. I'm assuming the budget wasn't very high, but the end product is very impressive.

Bravo UK film industry.
