A PC, preferably good enough for gaming.
Internet and all its wonders (porn, games, movies, ...ordering drugs, social networking, zoklet)
Ordering all your shopping items like clothing, food, etc, online to your door.

However the only real problem for me is not enough money for the drugs...well not as much drugs as I would like, other than that all aspects are covered.

That makes sense, but it could result in them remaining a shut-in besides this one interest causing them to going out of the house when required to for it.

I was wondering more on how or why one makes a full transition from going to shut-in to a 'normal'.

I plan on moving into an apartment with a room-mate in around a few weeks but would still be living the shut-in lifestyle as I really don't mind it as long as there is enough adequate entertainment inside. The unemployed drugged life is certainly relaxing compared to the hell of 5 days a week 8 hour work-days. And really, there isn't all that much entertainment outside depending on a person's interests. You've got sports, clubs, bars, restaurants, cinemas, gyms. What is there to be out there for that can't be satisfied inside? Most of these things are believed to be entertaining due to consumerist culture believing those things are desirable and the norm.

I for one am enjoying my life a lot more than I was before I was a shut-in.
"Having a life" is just something to impress people and show them that you're more "successful" than them and not a "loser". It's like people live based on how they want others to think of them.
