Thought this was a good video. Basically he says that the reason is that you get less satisfaction out of sober life. No matter what you do, nothing ends up comparing to those times when you were on drugs. Kinda depressing. Oh well, I'm off to go do some more drugs

I find the opposite to be true. I don't think that I'd get as much out of sobriety these days had I never used drugs. The guy in the video sounds like kind of a titty to me.

Well shit I could have told you that. Of course doing drugs makes being sober boring. The answer is not to stop doing drugs. Weed, benzos and opiates for general use with some pyschedelics every now and again to keep it interesting, that'll keep me happy for the rest of my life.

well it's like i think people who have never done drugs regularly often have less problems i mean that's just based on my observations. but its just all like if you've never tried meth or heroin or whatever you don't feel like you're missing out on something.

it depends on the way you look at it i guess. in my opinion (and like i've never tried most drugs) it's probably best to not get into drugs, because often it leads down a path of problems. therfor i choose to remain ignorant of the drugz because i don't want all the problems associated with them. maybe i won't get to feel that amazing loving high but like i said, it generally comes with a lot of problems after you come down from your high and other things are pretty good too. like weed i mean weed makes me feel amazing if im doing the right thing while high. theres no need to push the limit like that n start gettin into more stuff

I came in here to say "the real reason not to do drugs is that sober life begins to pale in comparison", but I guess he's ahead of me on that one. (Also didn't watch.) That said, I'm with Gith... the choice isn't be a drug addict or be totally sober forever. Switch up your use, use with moderation, don't be a fool and do dangerous/financially ruinous stuff... and it's all gravy.

Though that's easier said than done, of course.

I laughed in approval, but careful with that. It turns out that staying high your whole life is much more difficult than it appeared when I first hit upon the plan. It's easy to say "you need self-control", but you have to internalize and really understand how important that is. It's pretty easy to end up broke and homeless... a fate I avoided, but not by much.

tbh i did drugs pretty much continuously from the age of 14 thru to my mid/late 30s, bar the times i was in jail. i've been clean(i hate that term clean, lol) 3 years now and i'm kinda finding the whole being sober thing quite a novelty. i think age has a lot to do with it but i do find i appreciate a lot of things now that i never would have done before. and having your shit together is also a really interesting concept tbh.

I have a feeling I'll turn into this. I'm 19 with a long life ahead and I think I'm gonna enjoy doing drugs until I have to grow up and stop using drugs as recreational fun. Then I'll just become an alcoholic.

I would never be sober if drugs could make the rest of my life "pale in comparrison." That's no reason to abstain; what we commonly and naively refer to as 'reality' has to be worh something for those of us who choose to participate. No, I use drugs to persue life with renewed vigor and novelty of perspective.
