i been homeless before and i don't get why people keep dogs. i guess its the companionship thing, but when you're homeless you got to be light on your feet. i've known people get nicked cause their dog ran off while they were doing something, and they stayed around looking for the freakin dog. i've even heard of people leaving dogs behind in burglaries and shit and the cops recognized the guys dog when they found it. na man, dogs are a liability when you're on your toes.
the worst time to have a heart attack is during a game of charades
I think mostly they keep them to increase their chances of gaining sympathy and cash handouts. A dog in need tugs at the heart and loosens the pursestrings sometimes in ways that a solo hobo cannot. Basically, like most actions of a homeless person, it is designed to exploit the public for hopeful financial reward. The homeless that are more like trekkers and don't wallow in filth in cities begging are a different story. They keep dogs for the right reason, not a cheap furry ploy.
They keep dogs because it's the only thing that will actually give them some companionship and love. These guys are completely down and out and have nothing. If I were in their situation, I'd want a dog too. Also, it's protection. Somebody comes up on you in the middle of the night, that dog will let you know.
Smoke shit and fuck and then sleep for a spell,
I don't do it bad, but I do it well.
I just do the hell out of living, that's the best I can do.
