Default Cash for Gold

What's your experience with these kind of places? I have some pieces (24K and 18K Gold) and would love to get some money while the price of gold is still high.

I'm thinking these places seriously "low ball" you, but I think any money would be good....

I'm pretty sure they pay like half the spot price, if that.

If rather than their cash value, you feel like getting any random amount of money less than that Cash 4 Gold is definitely for you. All the most reliable businesses advertise during Maury Povich. Predatory, unaccredited for profit colleges out to turn your useless just became an adult good credit into 30k a year for a bachelors degree that any employer will laugh at upon seeing. JG Wentworth, where if you have a structured settlement, then, "IT'S YOUR MONEY AND YOU NEED IT NOW". Where you can get the lump sum of your structured settlement (ie someone is paying you x dollars a month or week over y years) and they'll give that to you for only 60% of the money you're owed! That JG Wentworth, WHAT A GUY!

But Cash 4 Gold, I bet THEY'RE legit!

EDIT:

Some actual information
Quote:
Cash4Gold employees weigh the items, photograph them and assess the items using such tools as acids, X-rays and electronic testing devices. Then they send the customer a check for the determined amount. Customers are given 12 days from the date on the check to ask for their jewelry back if they are not completely satisfied with the amount of their check.[11] According to the company, they pay between 20-80% of the melt value of the items to the seller, and generally less than a pawn shop would pay,[11] though independent reports suggest less than 20% of the value is the norm.[15][16] The norm for the gold-buying industry is for the seller to be paid more than 90% of the value of the gold.

Cash For Gold is quite possibly the shittiest scam ever. They quite clearly prey on retards*, as upon closing they leave out a stack of flyer's which just a little bit larger than a $50 note, and shaped & printed JUST like one, to lure these types who like easy money such as a stack of fifties that some dumbass has left sitting in the middle of a fucking table in the shopping centre.

*(such as the type of people who inhabit certain suburbs, and actually happen to be white, have 'high morals' such as OMFG illegal immigrants, and five kids out of wedlock with stupid names).

You are probably better off going to a pawn shop. At least then if something has value as jewlery they might pay you the for that.

If you're in the UK, take it to a scabby pawnbrokers/2nd hand shop that hires monkeys & inbreds who havn't got a clue what their doing, like cash converters or cash generator, they cry out for gold and will usually pay very high for it.

I sold a ring to one last year when the price of it scrap was about 10/g of 9ct, the dick behind the counter gave me 9.25/g.
