Karl Pilkington is actually an idiot - literally. It's funny because his mind works on such a basic level, that sometimes the most simplest of logic that could be lost on us is blindingly obvious to him. He might be well-read but he really is dumb as a sack of bricks. Damn it all comes together in a hilarious way, Ricky and Steve have surely stumbled upon a goldmine.

EH, he was a radio producer, which requires some technical knowledge, but then once Ricky and Steve Merchant found him they put him to much better use. The only reason we know who he is, is because Ricky and Steve basically made him famous.

I'm doubtful that it's a character. Just exaggerating traits he already has. I think most radio talent does this because without a visual cue, everyone really sounds kind of monotone.'

in my defense, there was a period of about 3 months where I had all of the sky1 radio shows recorded (sans the music ) and I'd just let that shit run all night after I got into bed. pick up where I left off the next night. good shit to catch z's to. plus, i finally found out it is possible to learn things while you're sleeping - i was able to recognize bits of stuff I hadn't heard when I was awake sometimes! crayz.
