What pissed me off about Avatar is it was marketed as simply an awesome sci-fi piece of escapism... but, of course, turns out it was just another vehicle to deliver a leftist agenda, a propaganda message movie meant to influence people without being overt about it. Cameron treated his audience as if they were a bunch of naive children who need to be steered in a certain direction, rather than simply making a case and letting the audience decide for themselves.

I don't mind a movie with an agenda as long as it doesn't try to be coy about it and disguise itself as something else. I expect better out of James Cameron than that, because he's delivered better than that before.

The worst thing about Avatar is how it's rekindled the craze of trying to make films in 3D for about the millionth time, except the studios are really behind it this go around. Honestly I hope it dies a shitty death, 3D is a stupid theme park gimmick that doesn't belong inside a multiplex ruining every movie I want to see.
