Yeah they sound like they're doing wonders for your mental health.

The idea with those types of drugs is they're supposed to push extremely depressed people to a sort of semi-flatline emotional zombie state that is supposedly enough of a lift to enable them to actually do something concrete to combat their disease. In reality they only have a statistically significant effect on the most severe depression cases. So for most depressives they're nothing but a placebo.

Also they mostly block the effects of half the recreational drugs that are worth taking (all the 'typical' psychedelics, MDMA, and I'm sure others) There's research on the subject - it's been scientifically verified.

So yeah, SSRIs don't usually work, take the fun out of a lot of recreational drugs, and turn you into a zombie, Fuck them.
