Barger, and the Hells Angels supported the war in Vietnam.

In November 1965 Barger sent a letter to president Lyndon Johnson at the White House in support to the war in Vietnam "I volunteer a group of loyal Americans for behind-the-line duty in Vietnam. We are available for training and duty immediately." Barger received a letter back from an officer stating if they wanted to fight they would have to enlist in the army.

In April 1957 he was riding to Gardena, CA. at one point his motorcycle broke down on the highway and a Hells Angel stopped to help him, after that encounter he started the Oakland chapter.

In 1958 he became president of the Oakland chapter of the Hells Angels.

Barger and the Hells Angels made international headlines when a small group disrupted hundreds of anti-war protesters in Berkeley, California in 1965.

Hells Angels do mission support was the point of it.

I bet the CIA use them as international agents. Like put them in the underworld and find out who the heavies from other countries are who are running drugs and weapons and biological agents and chemicals, find which outfits they are linked with and do an assassination or some shit like that.

I would have no problems with threads discussing motorcycles as light cavalry and the tactics used by motorcycle gangs, but threads that consist of 'I believe the hell's angels are CIA operatives, prove me wrong' are fucking stupid and getting moved to it's a conspiracy with the threads about time travelers and shit.

Did you listen to the "Hardcore History" episode where Dan makes comparison between the European Barbarian tribes who attacked and immigrated to the areas of the Roman Empire, especially the Francs and the Allemeni, and modern day bikers? Its a fascinating idea, and it makes perfect sense when you read the sources, these poor civilised Romans were getting over-run by Harley-less biker blow-ins moving to town and carrying on, and having to deal with their drinking, their fighting and their personal hygeine was a huge problem for them.
