Melodic type metal with no screaming
example.
Where can I find anything similar to this? I like some metal but that fucking screaming and the growling really turns me off to it.

Dream Theater, maybe? Both Opeth and Dream Theater belong to the progressive metal genre, but Dream Theater doesn't do a whole lot of screaming or growling.

By screaming do you also mean growling and other disorted vocals? Is instrumental fine, or do you actually prefer vocals?

I actually prefer vocals but only if they're meaningful and understandable, which I haven't really come across when I listen to metal (but I'm still a n00b) which is why I've mostly just been leaning towards instrumentals.

Porcupine Tree, again not metal but you might find them to your liking.
