The only thing interesting to me about the cartels is how white so many of them are. Especially the top ones.

I also don't see how this has any effect on me. That is why it's so uninteresting. Why do they do it? Like cutting someones head off once or twice to send a message I understand but it's getting pretty old. It's not like it hasn't been done to death. It's not like they're being any more brutal/creative than any of the others. Do they want attention from the outside world?

This. Of course that would have been better than to just accept it and not fight back. I think everyone feels that way, myself included, and Im sure that guy thought the same thing.

Its just that when you are in a real situation like that guy, you cant really have that same mindset. You know the guy was scared shitless and he didnt want to be beheaded, but he listens to the people that will kill him. His last moments would have been nowhere near as horrific if he would have ran off.

I havent really looked into it, but I think he stayed because his mind was almost 'tricking' him. The guy knew if he tried to get up and run, he would be shot and killed no doubt. He stayed because he thought some kind of miracle would happen. If he did what they wanted, the cartel would have let him get off much easier, or someone would rush in and save his life. The mind has a hard time just accepting death like that. Thats just a theory of mine anyway...
