Getting caught stealing on camera

So hypothetically, every day for school lunch I go to Dollar Tree. Let's just say that I use the lunch money I get from my dad for weed and alcohol. I hypothetically go to Dollar Tree everyday for an entire school year and steal my lunch. With one week of school left, I see cops exiting Dollar Tree and my friend's friend's mom heard that they are going to arrest some kids for stealing there. My question is, do Dollar Tree's cameras actually record? And if so, do the have good enough quality? I never looked at the cameras or anything I never got caught stealing, but someone said something about cameras catching the kids. I'm not to worried about getting caught, except that just 3 weeks ago I almost got a felony for fighting in public. If I just avoid Dollar Tree, should I be fine? Once Summer starts, I'll be confined to my house anyways. So I just need to survive Monday-Thursday and I'll be good.

My friend has stolen from there a lot. They actually have decent brand name products, just smaller packages(which makes it easier for my friend to conceal). They also have a minimum amount of employees working, and possibly no sales associates.

The Dollar Tree in my area has cameras, but not in the food/candy aisle. If they even called the cops, chances are they'll either A.) Wait for us to come back Monday as we have every day of the school year, then call the cops when we're inside. Or B.) Call the school, but with senior pranks and other end of the year shenanigans, they won't have a chance to investigate, but if they do, just deny, deny, deny. My plan is to go eat at McDonalds and go straight back to school. And if I don't get caught by Thursday, then I'm home free. I'll post up every day so you guys know how successful my 180 day heist has gone. If I get away I calculated that me and my buddy have collectively stolen $1,080 of food, candy, and drinks in one school year. Is the such thing as collective grand theft? Lol just kidding on that one.

Monday: Nothing happened at all. I went to lunch at McDonald's, then, while trying not to get caught stealing, I walk into the gas station, buy an Almond Joy, and steal a pack a gum. Lol. I actually poked my head into Dollar Tree and waved at the friendly woman who works there, just to see her response. She just smiled and waved back.

If OP has been hitting this Dollar Tree multiple times for multiple foods items, and it's on camera, the store's LP department may call in the FBI to investigate the thefts. The could watch the videotapes for any items he has touched, and then lift the prints from those items. If they are following him due to an investigation of the thefts, they may have collected his finger prints, and can compare.

They may use all confidential informants to gather info/evidence against the OP. OP needs to stfu about the thefts, and stay inside for at least year. By then, the case will have gone cold and the FBI will begin to investigate another Dollar Tree theft.
