What are your top three albums?
Probably been done before but nevermind.
Only three... no more... so you have to make the choice what deserves to be there.
For me:
Tool - Lateralus
The Mars Volta - Deloused in the Comatorium
The Pixies - Surfer Rosa
Go!

Re: What are your top three albums?
There's really just one:
Matchbox Twenty- Yourself or Someone Like You
I could listen to that fucker on repeat for weeks- and have. First cassette I ever got as a kid, first album I put back on my comp after it crashed. I think for the past 8 months its been in my car cd player for maybe 5 of them...
I love how fucking depressed he is, but the music sounds so happy. Tricks people. Altogether just a tight fucking band as they were breaking onto the scene. I like some of their later stuff, but haven't dabbled too much. I like plenty of other bands more, and I've never seen MB20 in concert. I guess I just love that album.

In my opinion, the best album ever. I've haven't heard a discussion about "Top Albums" that didn't mention this masterpiece.

People who say The Beatles are overrated suck.
Also, this is a personal top three albums thread, so I'm sure we all have our own reasons for thinking their albums should be in the top three.

That's bullshit and correct at the same time, while the over appreciation for them is shoved down every soul's throat be they generic or unique..... it still doesnt change the fact that the beatles are a band that deserves the highest of honors for their musicianship and for the context and ideologies expressed through their music or through their fame.

|
Disregard my words as me going apeshit, I do think the beatles get alot of credit for their music for the wrong reasons and the majority of fans are drones but still, their songs hold their weight.
As it is I dont really see eye to eye with any/many beatles fans but I'd be lying if I didnt say I adore their discography through and through.

I was considering Brave murder day and Dance of december souls for Katatonia. Not a huge fan of the later alternative gothic metal.
Orchid and morningrise were another hard choice to make. They're both just fucking epic.

I myself very much enjoy Dance of December Souls and Brave Murder Day, I went with Last Fair Deal Gone Down so that my list was not stuck and grouped in with 16 year olds who listen to nothing but death metal because they just discovered it and think they found the meaning of life.
I also liked October Tide's older albums, which is basically a side project of Katatonia, and really awesome.

Porcupine Tree - In Absentia
Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin II
A lot of the albums I have were great when I first heard them, but after hearing them a million times, don't sound so good now. The albums in my list are albums that I have heard a million times yet still sound great.

Re: What are your top three albums?
Fugazi - Red Medicine
dat do u liek me into-> bed 4 da scrapin
Black Flag - Family Man
pretty groundbreaking shit here, and the album that initially split black flag up into greg ginn's crazy solo bullshit and henry rollins spoken word/comedy/whatthefuck.
Pink Floyd - More

mostly because it gives me hardcore DMT flashbacks.
