Default Best ballistics calculator app

The soybeans are sprouting and its time again to bust out the groundhog guns, range finder, and click charts. Who uses a smart phone based ballistic calculator and which is your favorite. Don't need anything elaborate just something firstly accurate, but able to save multiple click charts, and be able to calculate wind drift on an as needed basis. Couple of fields planted in beans this year that may be viable options to get in the 1000 yard club, so I am pretty stoked about it.

I always just make charts.

Ussually ill trim a index card to fit inside my flip up scope caps.

Ill list the 0 then +50 +100 +150 etc.

I never bother with windage I just wait and shoot inbetween gusts and eyeball the rest.

Do you have a mil-dot scope?

What bullet are you using?

Whats the Muzzle velocity?

Elevation?

I want to do away with having to keep track of 5 different click charts. I have a 40gr and 50gr load for my 22-250, one for my heavy AR, one for my 6.5x47, and another one that I can't seem to remember what its for right now. My 6.5 and 22-250 both have mil-dots. When I was shooting long range out in Kansas I just used the mil-dots for windage reference, but there were a ton of prairie dogs to shoot at and if you missed there was always another one to give you a second chance. Shooting a groundhogs long range is another story. There's about a 90% chance you are only going to have 1 shot to get it done and guessing windage isn't the best option.

Why don't you trim your loads down to 1 per caliber or 1 per gun?

I've seen people take windage charts to the side of their stock.

I just wouldn't trust electronics in the field.

You can also use cement for fixing commode tanks to mark your turrets.

I always fill the stamping in my rifle with it to make it pop out.

You can mark the turrets for 100 200 300 probably over 400 yards with the 22-250.

If the thread was titled "things I have already tried/ stuff I don't want to do to my rifle" you would be super helpful!

Do you think I really want to put tape on these stocks. Or dick up the micrometer turrets on the scope by putting some crap on there for fixing toilet tanks. And I really don't think filling in the lettering on the receiver will help the looks.

I carry my phone all the time so I will always have my click charts. As for "trusting electronics in the field", I will literally just be in a field. Not hundreds of miles from civilization relying on my phone.

Do you really want us to browse through the Crapple store for you? Do it yourself and don't shoot yourself in the foot or some shit while you're at it.

Sorry my suggestions are functional.

I'd rather be sending rounds downrange then playing on my iphone.

I want you to fuck off. I simply asked if anyone in W&C was already using one. I have already looked at some but wondered if someone had feedback for any of them.

Your suggestions are functional, just not at all what I asked about. It would be like someone asking what kind of laptop does everyone like, and me saying you could just unhook your desktop and take it to another room in your house and use it there.

Have you ever shot anything successfully over 300 yards? I am talking about shooting at groundhogs at 500 plus yards. Maybe you are happy just putting rounds downrange. I would rather know exactly where the bullet is going to hit at a certain range and wind value. Waiting for the wind to lay down is not always an option.
I can look at my phone without ever breaking my cheek weld and barely moving the POI. That doesn't work so well when you have a click chart taped to your stock.
