I'd like to see the movie have as limited dialogue as in the game. I can see it being bad if I have to constantly hear Wanderer's thoughts. The visuals and music in the game is what made it a beautiful game. I watched the "behind the game" on the ICO and SOTC collection, and the developers seem passionate about the game, so hopefully they'll stay true to the feeling and experience of the game.

That being said Mortal Kombat: Annihilation is awesome.

It put not giving a fuck to new and previously unattainable levels. Ninjas just rain from the sky and jacked monstrosities back flip either towards or away from them because fuck exposition, that's why. The writers of this movie think you're a homo fag with a real bad gay problem for even knowing what exposition means.

Oh i should mention people in this movie only travel by acrobatics. Raiden could be a pall bearer at his father's funeral and he'd still be back flipping with the coffin to the gravesite
They didn't even try to get the stunt men and homeless people they'd hired to act. Every single part of this movie was so clearly either done in one take or just cobbled together in editing from like six different shots. Characters clothing changes scene by scene more often than in an old hanna barbara cartoon.

It has the potential to be a relatively good movie.. why is it that Hollywood has lowered it's standards and instead of trying to turn out films that portray an important message or deep emotions, they give us over the top pieces of shit full of the same old explosions and tid bit of eye candy (never any actual boobs or ass or pussy pounding).. I think the biggest thing that will make or break this movie is the dialog. That was a big factor in making the atmosphere of SotC. There were no towns to visit, no one to talk to, nothing but you and the environment. It really hit on a emotional level about how vast yet empty the world was. The less dialog, the better.

Honestly, I feel Shadow of the Colossus is overrated. I give it props for trying something different and breaking the norm of most games. The empty environment and the atmosphere was While I thought it groundbreaking and unique, I still felt that it isnt ungodly good like a lot the fanboys make it out to be. I loved the game and I played though it, but the replay value wasnt that high for me. The concept of finding the weak spots while you're usually on top of the guy was pretty epic, but once you solve the boss battle puzzles it loses my interest.

I found it to be the perfect amount of story. Enough to have a little mystery. I knew the major details and that was what I needed to know to progress the game. I felt bonded with Wanderer and the emptiness was surreal and portraying the lost and hopelessness of the challenge at hand.

The controls were miserable. The landscape, people, and Colussus were literally polygon hell. Almost no object in that game was discernible for what it actually was.

The fact that the game consisted of climbing ontop of some slow-moving, easy to kill mobs and stabbing them in the shiny spot doesn't make it a good game. The fact the writers went out of their way to make the story as incomprehensible as possible just goes to show it was someone try-hard brainiac's wankfest of a game design. Someone thought they were "teh deepz0rz" when they made this game, there is no doubt in my mind.

I played through the entire game, it was shit. Believe me. The only reason people like it is because it gives them a chance to appear like they have some unique and interesting perspective on what makes a video game good, when in reality; almost everything about SoTC is bad. Conceptually, the idea of an underdog story is always appealing to almost anyone; this game is just horrendously done.
