How many of you have a real HDTV to play VG's?
How many of you have a real HDTV to play VG's?
I recently switched to the real HDTV, and only after it I understood why PC gamers are always saying that PC is better than consoles. The truth is PC gamers have never seen a console running on a real HDTV. HDTV has amazing graphics, thi smeans that any console game on HDTV is way better than any PC game is supposed to.

By HDTV I mean true HDTV with high video resolution, simple HDTV are only capable of 720p only, without upgrading resolution. A lot of old 720p HDTVs were not true HDTVs.

I play games on a GIGANTIC tube TV that weighs a ridiculous amount, and sometimes makes crackling noises and the picture goes out and come back on really quickly.

I'm not going to start a flamewar between console and pc-gamers.. but pc gaming totally kicks ass, even if you have a HDTV. In fact, you could just hook up that HDTV to your PC, resulting in even better results. PC's still have better hardware than most consoles do.
By the way, wasn't it you who posted that clip by Jimquisition where he argued that hardware nowadays is very under-used? Yeah, even though you have huge ass TV-screen, you only see shades of shitstaincolours. But that's no different on a PC.
Anyway, it's just my opinion that the PC is still the superior gamesystem.

I play xbox and use computer on the same monitor, a 22" 1680X1050 dealy. Its always worked just fine for me, I guess full HD would be better, but really I don't have the free cash.

yeah mine is in 1080p.
I dont really care that much about the graphic quality. About 720p is fine with me. Some games do need it though or else some of the text is hardly readable

You tv's resolution is irrelevant when the game is being rendered in 720p. Play Unreal Tournament 3 on a 360 and pause it. Then play the same game on a PC at ultra settings in a resolution of 1920x1080 or above and pause that as well. Now, look at the textures.

Meh, i can hook my rig up to a projecter and still get both higher resolution and better looking gfx, than i ever would on a console with or w/o a good monitor.

My monitor I bought in 2007 for a couple hundred is 1680x1050. If I had some cash money I could buy a 2560x1600 display today.
Console gaming peasants and their "Full HD" 1920×1080 tvs.

Compared to ADOM it's much better
yes i play ASCII art with a Geforce 480gtx, 3.2gigz quad core, and 12g or ram on a big screen TV
the point is that one not need superior graphics to play on the God of all gaming machines
