If you are wondering what I mean by that, just look back to how the internet used to be compared to how it is now.

On TOTSE, every other thread was about sex or doing something illegal. Now take a look at Zoklet. 90% of threads in LLR are about serious relationship crap and the porn forum is completely gone. Bad Ideas is now a fucking joke. Sure, it always kind of was, but not to this extent.

Then take a look at the rest of the internet. Just 6 years ago, the internet was still full of weird "fringe" shit, and if it couldn't be found on a big name site, you could most certainly find it on a Geocities page. Putting aside the myspace bullshit, which was new at the time, most of the communication on the internet was discussion to some degree. Chat, forums, IRC, and IM were the mainstay of internet communication. Now what do we have? Facebook "walls" where people relay moronic memes and repeatedly ask you to play some stupid fuck game? I've heard time and time again in the media about how Facebook "revolutionized" the internet. No it didn't, asshole; if anything, it destroyed the internet. Now all people want is to post pictures of themselves on their Facebook walls and post "i m bying shoes!" on Twitter.

Take an even closer look at memes. The few memes there were years ago were funny and they were created by people intelligent enough to use Firefox instead of IE. Now anybody can create an image macro meme and post it on Tumblr, meaning that even someone who has no idea how to use photoshop, or type with a qwerty keyboard, or do anything practical, can make a funny on the internet for everyone to fucking laugh at. Seriously, can the internet get more dull than it already is? From witty internet inside jokes, we went to mere observational jokes that make Jerry Seinfeld look like fucking George Carlin.

And what about the rest of life? All people care about are their fucking little magic boxes that have apps that allow them to play angry birds and access facebook, and show shit to annoy their fucking friends, and shit like that. And all people care about is the latest shovelware video game, the latest iCellPhone, the latest bullcrap "edgy" or "gritty" drama on fucking television, the latest ejaculating dildo, yada yada yada...

In other words, fuck everything. And you will probably say "People have always been like this." Well yeah, asshole. But now it's amplified exponentially. It's gotten so bad that because everyone owns some cheapo tablet that has "apps", they all think they are fucking techies. Guess what folks! You don't know jack shit about anything just because you own a tablet! I want you to hold your tablet in the air in front of you, and bash your head into it as hard as you can repeatedly. Then you'll feel fucking smart and "with it" and "up to date".

Everyone can kiss my dick. Fuck it all. I'm tempted to build a shed in the woods where I can live out the rest of my life in peace.

No, the internet just became popular. Back when totse reigned supreme, the internet was still a fairly obscure place where only the nerds dwelt. Then Facebook happened, and your grandma started using the internet as much as the outcast nerds used to. If you're using the internet as your stupidity barometer, you're going to find that stupid-pressure has risen steadily over the last decade or so. The biggest surge of stupid assholes going online occurring around 2007 or 2008.

If you look at people in the real world though, shit's still exactly the same. Full of retards and smart folk just trying to get by without strangling each other for being unbearable.
