So once again, the government's attempts to quell drug abuse has backfired in spectacular fashion as it always has and always will. Heroin is in again big time, and it's knocking motherfuckers off the planet as it has been known to do. Although I would doubt the legitimacy of this being a "new wave" of heroin addiction as its always been there and has always been used by the suburban whites far more than the broke ghetto people that I've known.

And of course the government will use this as an excuse to crack down on heroin users by giving the DEA another $12 million a year. All the while, countries where you are free to use recreational drugs have the lowest usage rates.

The reason for these new formulations is that the government (CIA) has a direct interest in selling Heroin, and you know why, they have a shitload of it from Afghanistan. I also bet that the government is paying people to grow, cultivate opium and convert it into heroin, while paying them the same as the Taliban did in the 90's. This is probably also the reason why those pills were so abusable in the early 00's

The government isn’t failing with these new ‘attempts’ at creating a non-addictive pain medication there just being selective with what company’s they let produce them - Purdue made an average of what 3 billion a year. When they first came up with OxyContin they said it was the first pain medication that wasn't addictive. It's actually proven that OxyContin is twice as addictive to heroin, something to do with how it binds to the receptors in your brain.

I feel bad for my friends that are still fucking with the devil, it sounds cliché but there’s nothing I can say or do that will make them stop.

Both titles seem rather intentionally misleading to me. Where does that article say they changed the formula? What did they change it to? All it seems to say is that people turn to street drugs when prescriptions become prohibitively expensive or too difficult to obtain.

not sure if you're actually asking or just questioning the author's writing skills, but it's referring to the 'timer' mechanism in the new high-dose oxycodone pills that makes them gel up, which in turns makes them very difficult to bang, which I assume turns people onto cheaper, easier H.
