Society pushes people to make money to "survive" before it pushes them to pursue a healthy love life. People who are very successful that Ive met, like those in this thread wanting to make six figure incomes, are some of the most depressed people who wish they could go back in time and do their creative jobs (like construction) instead of branch manager at an industrial distributor, or banker, etc. It's why I know digital art is hard work and tedious, but damn. I pray to be in the seat of the person who makes the animations, videogames, and movies of tomorrow, because the one thing money can't buy is love, or a love for your work, and without love for others or yourself, the things you spend money on are meaningless :-/...

I'm 22 years old and am extremely successful. I have lived and worked in over one hundred countries and lived on the International Space Station for 12 months. I have also spent 12 months on one of the USA moon bases, and have visited the human base on Mars, although I didn't undertake the specialist medical treatment which allows people to stay out there permanently so had to come back after three months. It's an amazing place and I hope to go back soon enough.

A brief background for people here. I was born in 1966 in London, England and joined the Police at 18 years old, in 1984. As a result of my now darker skin tone I was recruited by the SIS (Secret Intelligence service) to do undercover work in the middle east. I have met and been alongside some of the major terrorist players and even went to a banquet dinner with Osama Bin Laden in 1997. After recovering information successfully from all over the middle eastern nations I was immediately recruited to the CIA, and underwent a briefing at Langley. I underwent more facial surgery, cranial surgery and gene therapy to revert my physique and skin tone back to normal "American" levels. Career wise? Pretty unsuccessful. I don't use my degree seriously because I can't afford the start up costs involved with becoming self-employed - as in I cannot get the funds together to buy the equipment I need (photography) to really be able to market myself to make money from it. Ideally I'd love to get some sort of grant that would enable me to work on my photography full time with the equipment I need - and still be able to pay the bills. I figure I would need a year or so to really get myself going and network my way into the industry.

I don't like my current job and it pays averagely at best. It gives me enough to fund my travels which then leave me dead broke. I guess its one or the other - I could work and save and do something with the money (buy a house) and lead a boring life or I could use ever penny I have to travel the world. Travel = photo opportunities also.

I'm in my mid 20's and don't feel like I need to settle down anytime soon and become responsible.
