Anyone else getting lag spikes during combat? Been stuck on Diablo for about 2 days now because without fail I'll get a lag spike and dc or die

If regular mobs one shot you, then you cannot progress properly. You also need at least 500 resist. I don't know if DH has some defensive skill or passive that will buff your resists. Haven't played it yet. But you should look into it to increase your resists to at the very, very least 300 before you get anywhere near act II. I'm now in act I with a wizard with around 290 resists with mostly hell act IV gear, have 31k life and 22k dps. Act I is for me a snoozefest but I'm not going to act II until I get all ilvl 61 gear with proper +intelelct, +all resist and +something else depending on my build.

They're also working on drops in the upcoming patch, making progress like it should be. Now you can get proper gear from farming act I. Look for details here:

and are you insane snoopy? DH with all res would make 0 sense, it's not meant to tank ANY hits at all, kill it before it kills you otherwise you're going to try and tank with a range class doing little to no damage

Snoopy for the DH they need to just straight up build glass cannon and forget about defense. Basically they just need to worry about downing mobs so they can progress through the acts, as they get to the later acts where they have access to farming better gear, THEN they can start incorporating defense into the build. DH doesnt really have any defensive skills/passives.

I dunno I haven't played DH yet but having at least some resists is a very helpful thing. You're going to get hit anyway, might as well be able to take some hits. The way some mobs work you just can't avoid them all. You know, the very small, paper thin yet super fast mobs that usually come in swarms. Like the little spiders or the things that jump up from the ground. Those things are near impossible to kite.

smoke screen makes you invisible for a few seconds, run away and continue kiting + your templar and with enough dex you dodge the few hits that you would take, all resist is too expensive and useless for a ranged class

I heard the best possible gear setup for DH is to stack armour, strength (for armour boost), all resist, and forget about dps entirely. Really good build. Definitely maxes out the classes potential.

Am I doing it wrong or does this game turn into a massive shit-fest after Act 1 Inferno?

I'm playing a barb and my basic strategy for elite mobs is to stun them with Ground Stomp, turn into Berzerker then use Ignore Pain and attack them.

It works in A1 since I can kill most mobs in the 5 seconds that IP is active. Any further on and IP is far less effective and I can't kill them in five seconds, meaning that they kill me.

I've whined about this in General chat and was basically told that I should swap out all my STR gear for resistances. I already have ~8k armour, 17k base DPS and 50% IAS but next to no res. Also I do die sometimes if Revenge doesn't proc whereas most other barbs seem to be pretty much invincible but barely capable of doing any damage.

The idea of running around like a big minge doing no damage sounds so fucking boring it is untrue. Would it be viable to get a high DPS socketed weapon and stick a star amethyst in it for +300 life per hit. I hit fairly frequently with the high IAS and if I stacked life per hit I could maybe get it to ~1k. My current weapon is a bit shit also (750DPS) so do I spend a shitload on a 1K+ DPS socketed wep or do I really have to do the resists thing?

Who knows, I think we'll start weeding out what stats are and are not needed pretty soon. Right now, it seems everyone is saying stack resistance. But that can't be the end all, you know?
