All joking aside, though, I'm serious. Taking market price, he has maybe 20 -25 bucks worth of stuff, and if he can find a buyer willing to deal with a non-vendor. No, and you're a fucking idiot; Valve is perfectly fine with real money trading and there are several traders out there who do real world business. Valve even hired an economist to help study the market for it. Hats have sold for as high as $5000 (Burning Team Captain).

Secondly, earbuds aren't worth a "shit ton" and never were. Their maximum price ever has been 27 keys and were initially absolutely the cheapest shit in town (2 -3 keys). The current market price pegs them at somewhere around 24 keys for the highest merchant price and 17 for trader price. Keys are sold by big merchants like Jaegerheister at $1 and subsequent traders at $1.50 (Valve sells them in-store for $2.50 , but traders buy them for less in metal terms and the current price is at $1-1.50). 1 pair of earbuds is, therefore, something like 20 bucks in a cash buy (higher if you're buying from a merch and planning on trading, lower if you're the merch and sharking new players).

IMO the new sniper and Rocket Launcher will be the only good ones, but to each his own

The smaller clip size and DPS kills the new SMG though for me, though.

metals are

2 weapons of the same class = 1 scrap metal
3 scrap = 1 reclaimed metal
3 reclaimed = 1 refined metal

And in any case, I'd hold out a few weeks for the new weapons. They;ll be far better and Valve will probably buff it later on, it's ridiculously unbalanced at the moment. On one hand, the SMG by itself is inferior to the stock SMG. On the other hand, it could be retardedly powerful if you, for example, bodyshot with the Huntsman, finish with the SMG and use the crits to go nuts.

the Scout's new weaps are garbage and the new flare gun is complete garbage, though, downgrade to the detonator.

You can get "unusual hats" by using the keys on a crate and then you have a 1% chance of getting an Unusual. These unusuals can sell for "an earbud" or more. The $200 I made was from unboxing about 12 crates. I made a 100% profit of $200 for nearly no effort over the regular course of my gameplay.

I got the Total War Master Collection yesterday by selling yet another unusual (product of about 10 keys used) for 28 keys and sold those keys for the game. I got the Total War Master collection for free, basically.

I have a job, too, so I'm not jumping for joy because I made $200, I'm mostly excited that it's now become entirely possible to play the video game I usually play and after a few weeks, I can roll the dice again and possibly buy a whole new video game and even a bundle with it. I've always been meaning to buy the TW games. They've always looked interesting and I plan on playing with Lanny later on today. And it was a byproduct of nothing but just straight up playing the game.
