Skydiving and related pursuits
Let's discuss skydiving, something that everyone knows about but few ever get around to trying.
First and foremost, there's nothing especially hardcore or scary, and certainly nothing skilful, about skydiving - any cunt can do it and basically no one pussies out on the plane ride up, so if you do manage to make a jump you are not special. Tandem passengers are mostly over-excited groups of young men who think they're now superman, or lone slut daughters brought for "the experience of a lifetime" on their 23rd birthday. She'll enjoy it in a way but will basically be distracted the whole time by overwhelming urges to be filled with several black cocks at once, a wish that will be granted a few hours later in a supermarket car park a few hundred yards from her house.
I've never been BASE jumping but I can confirm that it is an activity for people with a lot of money and no reason to live, the hope being that they'll either start enjoying life or swiftly end it. Unfortunately only a small minority ever enjoy the latter result, and most continue as they were until they succumb to an especially painful variety of bone cancer in their early 80's.
I will probably do some BASE jumping one day, hopefully more "E(arth)" than "BAS", purely as an interesting new way to interact with Mother Earth and her mountains, like skiing and so on. Walking is tiring and masochistic, and bad for your knees. The only reason to hike in mountains is to find the next beer outlet, and it could be interesting to walk up specifically to hurl yourself off.
Skydiving is kind of fun, but no more so than skiing, swimming, cycling, etc. - anything that gives you a nice sense of unusual movement that you can control precisely. And for the price (about £35 per lift, including gear rental - similar lifetime cost if you buy your own) you get like 15 minutes of amusement on the plane where there is usually banter and intimidation of new jumpers, then 50 seconds in freefall, and 5 minutes tops under canopy. I'd put it at about £100/hr of actual activity, or maybe £70/hr if you want to count the pre-jump shit and gearing up which some may enjoy.
The sensation of freefall is exactly like sticking your hand out of a car window when driving fast, but over your whole body. Stand in a strong wind and that's basically it. I recommend that anyone considering skydiving, or who already does it, or who has no interest in it, immediately commit suicide.

Re: Skydiving and related pursuits
I will agree that most base jumpers are trustfundians.

Re: Skydiving and related pursuits
I went skydiving for the first time last summer. It cost $200 and the place was in a small town that was on my way to a hiking spot.
It was worth it, but I agree about the exaggerations some have about it(if that's what you're trying to get at OP).
Well worth doing from time to time, but not all the time.
Wasn't life changing for me, nothing has been.
